Thanks guys. I'm happy with how he's getting along. My other guy decided not to take a kit with one of my Techs, so I have offered it to my friend's Dad. I'm determined to get another newbie started...although this gent may well have shaved with a DE in his early days.

I'll still have a couple of Techs that are going into my travel kit, and I'll have a measly 21 razors total. ;)

Thanks gentlemen! The cardboard insert was between the top and bottom plates when I got the razor. I'm fairly certain I was the first guy to use it. I was fortunate to find it.

Thanks, Jim! I started and ended with my favorite razors, the Rockwell Model T and the 6C, respectively. It was a real good month of safety shaves for me.

    Razor - Gem Micromatic OCMM
    Blade - CVS Carbon
Soap - Stirling Sheep small stupid sheep.jpg
    Brush - 30DC LE
    Post - Alum

Since I started on the big dog antibiotics today and those always knock me for a loop, I decided tonight was going to be a no-shave night. Yeah, ok, couldn't let you all down again. Bronchitis or no bronchitis, the shave must go on. It's been several weeks since a head shave too so that definitely needs to be done by morning. I have three appointments tomorrow I have to make and I just need to man up. You'll notice the CJB out to play in the picture. Yep, heavy head shave requires the pain stick whether my hands are fully steady or not, or even if a sudden coughing fit could lead to some, ummmmm....customization of my scalp. I'm good enough to do this, right? And, assuming I survive that I figured the OCMM is a good SE to return to. One of the best and it can bite too. I think I'm good enough to handle it.

For the soap - it's Sheep Sunday so back to the original Stirling Sheep for the face shave.. The extra cushion and slickness from the mutton tallow is a secret weapon against aggressive razors, and with the 30DC LE brush (original) I knew I'd have enough lather to mail out to everyone. (No, don't look, I didn't save any. Sorry). The usual VDH brush and soap for the head shave. My wife was a bit skeptical of me taking on the head shave with a pain stick in my somewhat weakened state but all went well. Perfect result. Off to the face with the OCMM. Three passes, smooth but noisy - just the way I like it - and the baby is in the house. I'm now sitting comfortably, smooth, and enjoying the wonderful flavor of cough drops and cherry koolaid. Yummmmm.

One more day to go and we have blown past 9000 posts my friends! What a month!!! I know I've been a bit scarce but you all have done a fantastic job both in conversation and in shaves and helping the new guys. Hey new guys - guess what? You're not new on Tuesday so get ready to share that expertise you've picked up! Have a great week!
