I think you will initially see a negative (!) soap usage in the first few shaves as the soap acclimatises to your hydration regime (as @RyX will attest too) but then you will see the usage rates level out.
I think it will be very interesting!

I'm thinking I need a slab from one of the street corner places. If you want the best you have to chase them down in their mobile kitchens they roll around in. Would probably fix me right up. I am up and running this morning in spite of not really wanting to. Things to get handled. Hopefully some down time this afternoon.

It will be interesting to see the results of daily soap usage, particularly the variability between participants. No doubt some here consistently load way more heavily than others.

Another approach is to weigh the soap or cream every few days and divide by the number of shaves in order to determine average usage. Some guys here track the number of shaves on a puck, so it would be easy to go back calculate average usage.

I agree that the effects of hydration will even out over a few shaves.

The trackers must be those who get "hints" from the sellers...(" A good 3 months worth of shaves")

I'm all in for OCtober.

I’m in for The OCtober but maybe only a few days of the MWF - I don’t have enough for the month and, well, the wife has put her foot down to curtail my purchasing. I’ve got a lot of other soap I need to use up before I can buy anything new. Now, if someone wanted to put some in the next traveling box for me, she could not complain - not that I’m asking.......
