Mark and I were just talking about it the other day. If all you want is a drama free close shave without any real skill, the OneBlade delivers. I could be blind, drunk and stupid and still get a nearly perfect shave. It takes technique out of the equation. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
MWF = 368g SEptember closing out shave Mitchell's Wool Fat SS Semogue 1305 boar brush Suribachi bowl, cool water Schick Type J, Chick blade Osage Rub Invigorating AS LaToja & Speick shave sticks setting unused. A tube of Indian Old Spice musk cream and Meißner Tremonia lavender still on the shelf untested. MWF is the soap du jour et mois. I centered the puck & loaded with a slightly damp well broken in Semogue for what turned out was just shy of the optimal time. Lather came easy in the bowl, but the total volume was short. Three easy passes with the long handled SE using diminishing lather each time. I'm not a Soap Miser & don't mind washing some down the drain if it means what I use is decadent. Lesson learned with no loss of slickness but a slight lack of volume this time. No errors, but not enough loaded lather for that extra half pass clean up on the lower neck. Thank to Randy @BaylorGator for the brush via Shavey Awards - and a whispered word - MWF is not unscented. It's lightly scented; a fine, fern-like fragrance based around Patchouli, enhanced with extracts of Lavender, Pine and Clove and with notes of Nutmeg, Cedarwood, Sandalwood, Vanilla and Musk. It is available as a refill puck, in the ceramic MWF dish, or a dark oak or lighter beech wood shaving bowl from Kent if that better suits your decor. Good Shaves Y'all!
When I first decided to ditch the carts I looked seriously into the OneBlade. My thought process at the time was buying one high quality razor that would last. The turn off for me was the proprietary blades. I foolishly thought I would be saving money in the long run by buying one high quality DE that took inexpensive blades. That ship has since sailed.
