    Tuesday OCtober 1

First OC shave of the month.
Hitting leadoff, a 113 year old, 1906 Gillette single ring model 100.

    Bowl/Scuttle - GP12
Soap - La Savonniere du Moulin (A+ in my book)
    Brush - Rubberset 400-3
Blade - Feather HI SS (3)
    Razor - 1906 Gillette model 100
Post Shave - OSMA Pierre alum, Stirling Ramblin' Man A/S Splash

    Shave rating 5 of 5

What a nice shave this razor gave. No wonder these razors were popular. This soap might be my favorite soap as well. I know it's not MWF, I'll do that tomorrow on a "W" day. 2 pass shave with NO need for partial cleanup passes. 1st pass was WTG and DFS+ and I could have stopped there but I got greedy. Did the 2nd pass XTG on my face and ATG on my neck area. Greedy part came with the ATG on my neck area and I pressed a bit too hard to try to get everything in the 2nd pass and caused myself some irritation that I felt when applying the alum and A/S. Other than that misstep on my part, a GREAT shave from this old-timer.

Tomorrow, considering another old-timer, a 1918 Gillette Bulldog.

Happy OCtober and great shaves everyone.

First I have to preface this with not all old types shave the same. I've had NDC 1921 - 1928 ones that shave fillet knives and ones that are on the low end of the aggressive scale. This razor has some serious blade feel to it but no bite when all is said and done. The razor feels a lot like a Cooper Monobilt the way it shaves. End result an almost BBS shave, really good shave better than almost any Gillette DE I've used. I think this one is going into the N.F.S. pile after I get it completely straightened out.

    Pre-War Tech
Feather(2) very not impressed with this blade and it went in the bank.
    TOBS St. James
    Semogue 830
Witch Hazel with Tea Tree Oil
    Pinauld Clubman
I wasn't impressed with the Feather on the first use in a Slim. I thought I would try it in a Tech. Still wasn't impressed. It's a sharp blade but sharp isn't all there is to it. IMHO. Oh well, I'm glad I didn't worry about buying a 100 pack of them.

i can honestly say i have never tried them..nor need to..the sharper gillette blades work fantastic in the tech for me..nacet.gsb,platinum ..7 oclocks..

I agree 100%. One of the best shaves of my life was with this razor and a Nacet. I will give the GSB a try next but it's going to have to be pretty good to beat that Nacet. I'm almost convinced that is my go to blade. I've got a couple of more to try though.
