You’re Google-Fu is amazeballs! Much appreciated!

I would appreciate some advice on SS technique (1954). I need to ride the cap a lot more than usual to avoid scraping, but this often results in leaving a lot of soap residue on the face. I can’t seem to find the sweet spot where the blade clears a path through the soap and gets the whiskers, without applying pressure.

I’m thinking I really need to focus in on “reduction” passes with this razor. And not go for too much, especially on my first pass. But if that’s the case, I feel I’ll be doing 4 pass shaves with this thing, as my stubble is pretty tough.

I love that feeling when you’re done with a shave and there’s no stinging or sensitive areas on your face at all. I’ve gotten close a couple times with the SS, but not there yet.

Great shave and report, Gary! It is very efficient to subtract final mass for the month from initial mass for the month as long as you measure the mass of puck and container
together. No need to waste time taking the daily mass, unless you are a devout Catholic. Lol!

Yep, they were originally made in the UK. In the 60s they started making them here in a Gillette factory in springs near Pretoria, South Africa. The ones we get here now are made in Russia, so possibly re branded 7 o clocks for the SA market. But still a cool collectors item since theyre only available here now.
