Goodafter noon folks doing some house cleaning around the hutch today. me and the SO that is. Taking a break to check out the Soprano's se how cousin Tony is doing.

Afternoon all...

Just woke up here. Young ones getting home from school. Hope everyone is having a better day than me.

 

Having the girlfriend over for dinner tonight, so I'm just popping in to say hi before I start prepping. Chili garlic shrimp, glass noodles, morels and fiddleheads (not exactly great pairing, but I wanted her to try morels and she wanted to try fiddleheads).

Do you have any opinion on what the good stuff is?

How much do you pay per pound of mudbug down there?

Making me jealous Don. The only mudbugs I could get alive around here would have to come from a bait shop.

 

The only way I'm getting mudbugs is by shipping them up here live. And only if I get enough people that are interested.

AHHHH but is the tooth fixed? I hate the dentist.

 

compared to the root canal a few months ago...tweren't nothin'

filled some cavities, got a couple more...that's what happens when you:
* don't go to dentist in over 10 years
* drink 60-80 oz of soda nearly everyday for about 2 of those years, and fairly regularly all the years before that

 

My problem these days is that old fillings are coming apart. Had to have one pulled awhile back and me thinks another is coming apart.. grrrrrrrr

 

I have had to have a number of fillings replaced and lost two teeth due to fillings falling out the tooth going bad.. Nothing worse than a tooth that has crossed to the dark side of the force...

 

Me three. Two crowns replaced last fall, two replaced this January. Seems I have a propensity to chew and grind in my sleep,,,,, go to bed with my mouth guard in now.

PLUS! Word today is the company I work for is laying off 12% of the work force. Soooooo, for dinner we cranked up the Margaritas. Will have a nice evening, get some good sleep, have a great shave in the morning, and see how it all starts to shake out.

We usually used the liquid, but you have to be careful with some of them.

A little more advice... when you're getting them ready to go in the water, toss out the dead ones.
I know it sounds silly when you're about to commit them all to a boiling hot death, but the ones that are already dead will have an off-flavor.
And if you're serving mudbug to neophytes, you don't want them turned off by a couple of bad ones.

 

Yes the dead ones should go... that is a true statement.

Well back from my walk.. good stuff. house on TV.. time to relax.. of course was off all day so pretty much been that way all day.

 

Hey All...

Just in from work for the evening - waiting for my dear bride to return from up North. Missed shaving this morning, so am really looking forward to tomorrow.

My Heirloom strop showed up this week, so I'll probably do a little stropping this evening, along with some pen work.
