For weighing, i suggest doing it at the same point in the shave, preferably before you do anything to it. I do mine before the shave and before i touch the puck with a brush/water etc.

Not really, i usually get a month of use out of most blades. I might push the gillettes though, and see if i can break my personal best of 45 shaves with feathers.

Gotcha! I've been weighing right after loading since I expected I was leaving water behind. I'll check it before and after to see if there much of a difference. Eventually the soap usage will begin to show, The lid is not a tight fit so I can see how a neglected dish would dry up and the puck shrink. My location is year round high humidity which might slow the drying.

My weigh in was a dry puck a week after the last use. I live in a dry environment. Everything dries out fast.

When we vacationed in New Orleans last year I noticed a huge difference in residual slickness. Not sure if it was the water, humidity or a combination of the two.

Thanks for the tip! Did a quick search, seems that any store doesn't sell it over here.
6 fl oz bottle of clubman costs almost 20€ over here..

sorry i am not getting scientific about the weight of soap gents,it's challenging enough to use one soap day after day,no matter how good it is..i am spoiled with the freedom of multiple great soaps, though to me they are all quite similar..
however ,i will say i am loading enough to get 3-5 full passes, with badger, boar and synthetic ,the brush still quite full at the end and some in the bowl.i am doing a 5-10 second load ,damp brush adding water slowly..i have even left some in the bowl to dry and add to the next morning.soft water here so no issues..doesn't burst into bubbles and doesn't dissipate.i guess lathering williams for years has paid off..MWF is fantastic soap ,face feels good..very slick and delivers great results..will order the ceramic container full next time..although with my current-"what scent do i feel like today"- rotation style,my soaps will last for ages..:)

No apologies necessary as far as I'm concerned. Your shave, your way.

I'm working on a trade with another TSD member and I mentioned there is a local shop that stocks a number of Pinaud products. Rather than list them I took a couple photos and did a quick sloppy panorama.

Admittedly they are the best stocked shop near by. Zoom in to see prices in $US.

Not required Gary! I've stopped counting blade uses, and have never done spreadsheets on soap, razor, brush, or AS use. Like you sticking to one anything for a month takes extreme willpower.

Shave #3 with MWF. Terry, you'll be happy to know that I put a new Feather blade in my DE and it was a very smooth shave.
Tried Merkurman's lathering method and the results were excellent. Short bloom of the puck and
with a well-shaken (not stirred) brush, I began the load and about every 15 seconds, I quickly swiped the brush under a trickle of H2O.

Some shavers don't like this method, claiming that one is constantly picking up more soap.
By the time I went to the face, I had a particularly shiny lather and far less "airy" than one might experience with MWF.
The AS-D2 is so easy to use. With the proper prep, it slides around your face better than 99% of all razors...
(at least the many razors I have used)
Three uneventful passes and the baby is in the house.
It's funny...I could use the same gear day in and day out and still get the same enjoyment from shaving. :)

    ...maybe ;)
