After careful consideration, I have made up my mind.

And I think both myself and Pam will be very happy with my decision.

And yes, you still get Matt from Friday to Sunday, Pam.

    I think so.

You get the majority of the HYD guys, and Matt for 3 days a week. What's not to like?

I completely agree, though it's been much longer than a year. They've dramatically cut back their portion sizes, lowered the quality of their food, and significantly raised their prices. I used to crave Outback something fierce, now I avoid it if at all possible.

I like the drive up service at Outback, but have only used it a couple of times. They've always struck me as just okay, but the wife like it there so we go once in a while. Love the Bloomin' Onion. Steak and potatoes are decent.

Hope you had a great anniversary, Shep!

Yes, I'm still plum tuckered, but couldn't sleep. Think I'm about ready to try again. :sleep001

Same here.. Actually my anniversary (15 years) is coming up. We usually try to hit Outback for either combined Birthday/Mothers Day celebration or for anniversary or for both. It used to have excellent quality food. However, the quality, the menu, the portion sizes, etc.. have all slipped a few notches.

Thanks for the reminder, now I have to figure out what we WILL do for those things.

Dunno if you have one by you, but I highly recommend Longhorn Steakhouse. Their food is generally excellent, and the prime rib in particular is perfection on a plate. I dig their cheese fries too. I use to love the Outback ones until they cut the portion in half and removed all the flavor, but Longhorn's cheese fries still have a good kick of flavor.

The roomie and I have started going to Saltgrass.
Their food is easily as good as Outback was at its best.

I was once told that you shouldn't take a date to a chain restaurant, but I realize that not all towns have a selection of local fare of the sort that you'd want for a date (or special occasion with wife/family).

That is a very good point. Unfortunately, my wife is very picky. However, I think Popalanos will work (local place we like) for one of the two dine outs
