Thank you guys. Charlie with the handle is not slick at all even with soapy wet hands.

I think i'm improving slowly but steadily. I've been getting closer shaves and less irritation, but there is still a lot of room for improvement.

I still need to practice lathering with my boar brush, the lather i get is very useable, but not quite as good as the one i can make with my synthetic. I think i need to just add more water and work it a little bit longer.

I enjoyed reading your shave report, it was very well written.

And now, it's time once again 4............................the FEEERRRIDAY FILES:

-I think I might pull out my Gillette Gel A.S.(the small size, great for travel dop kits.) On warm-ish days as Massachusetts can't decide when to turn fall-like, this is a good A.S.-especially with a canned cream. I think that the Gel(blue)and Lotion(white)have been quite underrated over the years.

-For any of you who have bought soaps(or other items)from The Soap Exchange, I hope you got not only the "Thank you for your purchase" note, but also a "Save 10% on your next purchase" message flipped in. Mine is stuck to my refrigerator, ready to be used when the time comes.
_About those roadside Burma Shave poems, I don't remember ever seeing any...maybe it was just something that was fun for many years and died down as I was growing up.

A nice and easy shave this morning with my focus gear. Everything fell into place on 2+ passes. I'm about half finished with the tub of T&H Sandalwood. It has been a great performer, and I enjoy the mild Sandalwood scent. It had been awhile since I used the Jeeves AS, and it rewarded me with a nice spicy scent. I'll finish with some EdT before we head out the door for lunch with a good friend and then who knows what.

Hope you guys are having a fantastic day.

The feel of this brush is soft. The only negative is that it is a lather hog. It creates a great lather, but when I face lather, the soap goes deeper into the brush, therefore, I have to squeeze the brush to get at the soap. I prefer my Omega 49 and Stirling boar brushes because they have more backbone, scritch and better release of the lather. I paid 60% of the list price of the Semogue brush and it is still more expensive than my boars. Although the performance is good, it is not worth the full price of $95. I stay away from badgers because of this brush.

    Proraso PS Red
    Jason's 30DC 2019 LE Handle, Omega 10098 Boar Knot
    MWF
    Shavesmith Kamisori
    Proraso AS Red

3 pass DFS+. MWF with the ceramic dish weighed in at 278 grams. Very quick shave this morning. Busy getting ready for a weekend of work and travel. Jason's handle always a pleasure, coupled with the Omega boar knot and MWF, just a lather machine. MWF performed as expected, quite slick and full bodied once hydrated. The added Proraso PS helped for some great in between swipe face feel and slickness for the first pass...all this had the Shavesmith Kamisori completing it's business with ease. Love this little razor, so easy to maneuver! Followed with a favorite, Proraso AS Red so I'm smelling fine.

Hope everyone has a great Friday and weekend. I'll be reading along til Monday, using a travel shave setup for Sat/Sun.

This stuff is such a YMMV thing. I love my SOC badger and it led my to try more badgers, many more.

I am trying to follow @jtspartan advise of one in and one out. I will give the Karve a try again over the next few days and see if it makes the cut.
