"Why is it things never go wrong at 9 AM on a Monday?"

My experience is that most of the people who cause problems, party early and all weekend, then sleep late.
That means that they screw everything up Thursday, Friday and Saturday night, then sleep it off while I'm fixing what they broke.
    Well.....

    MWF~~Simpson~~Gillette~~Feather~~Old Spice
Up and at 'em at the crack o' this morning (4:50am)
Dr. Mrs. Primo and I took care of some essential grocery shopping.
Got most of my garden prepped for winter and after I post this, going to hit the lumber yard.
MWF is continuing to give great shaves. The SS pictured above is a 1947, no-notch version
and loaded inside it is a day 2 Feather blade. The soaking brush is probably my zombie apocalypse
choice, a Chubby 2 Two Band Super Badger, from the "Grey Box" era.
    Mos def© a winner.
We're approaching the end of the Old Spice Lime. This is a "pre-shave" photo, so there is
another large splash missing. 1...maybe two more shaves and hasta la vista, baby.
Day 2 Feather is the best imo, followed by tomorrow. Day four can be iffy for my skin,
so I usually pitch after three shaves.
This soap might make it through the month. Despite blooming and overloading, it's not
showing too much wear and tear. We'll see.

    Works for me Joseph.
    Been looking for them now.
200 blades for about $110 US.
    I got some overtime and...
There's that "crazy blade" thing happening....again.
    Well....

Yes, Jason, but that PAA Charcoal soap is drenched with menthol. That would be too much.

    Enjoy your shaves,

    RyX DoH!

Thanks Jim! This is my first horse hair, and it's at least second hand coming out of The Traveling Box. I've read much about they type since it was one of the few I hadn't tried yet. (Patrick @9nein9 may be working on a moose hair brush, but that's a secret project so keep it quiet.) The tangling happens when the brush is swirled and badger hair can suffer too. To avoid the issue both loading and application is done with side to side, paint brush strokes. The soft flexible nature of the hairs is the issue. Not coarse like boar, or some kind of plastic like synthetics. There's also the issue of a hard puck which I've found is easier to load with stiff bristles.
Thanks Gary! You did choose a tight fitting dish. I like Old Spice mugs for that and the ribs inside many that grip the new puck. It worked well for my refill puck of Stirling Spice. I went and got all fancy buying the MWF dish that doesn't correctly fit their own puck.
That's been my method so far Jon. I haven't intentionally bloomed, only loaded from the dry puck with a damp brush. The lack of mass loss attests to the water left behind.
Guess I'm doing it wrong since mines still not stuck to the bottom of the dish. Loading with the horse hair was the most difficult so far. I'm resisting going to extraordinary means of rooting the puck. Surely others just plop in a puck and do fine.
I've done that with others Joseph. Both modern Williams and vintage Colgate got grated into Old Spice mugs. It's a good fix.
    Thanks Joe!
I may yet Jim. Still exploring options.
I can see that happening. I've been loading from the flat top, but poking bristles in around to scoop out loose protolathr (Yes, that IS a term). That may have reduced the ability of the puck to anchor.
    Thanks Clint!

    Terry:
I’ve used the Feather Super, and it’s a great blade, but was never able to get more than 10 shaves out of it. I’m currently on shave #27 with a Schick Proline blade. That includes face and dome shaves. Unbelievable, still sharp and no pulling yet. I think that the P-30 label on the box doesn’t stand for the number of blades, but rather for the number of shaves each blade delivers! ;)

    Enjoy your shaves,

    Jeff
