Thanks, Charlie, I would like for you to shave with it every so often. It really helps with your shaving technique. Now, there is no pressure to do so, but if you do, remember, no pressure.

Terry, I wholeheartedly agree with you! If I am going to pay top dollar, then I would expect top performance. My question to everyone is this: Have you paid for a high end razor, soap or brush that left you disappointed? Please be specific with your answer.

True! However, I have been fortunate that I like every soap and aftershave in my den. Obviously, I have my favorites, like Stirling's Bay Rum, Satsuma, Piacenza and Proraso Green. It could be that I may be more tolerant of my least favorite soaps because I like diversity and it helps me appreciate my favs more so.

Thanks Terry! You understand that when you get a great shave with one of your favorite razors, it really is enjoyable and fun.

A rare weekend shave for me earlier this afternoon. My wife and I went to a wedding reception so I had to look presentable. Face lathered The Fat and I didn't quite get enough water in it on the first pass so it ended up drying out a little. Added a little bit more water for the second pass which was much better. I forgot how awesome a shaver the OC Blackbird is. Two passes was plenty to get me to a DFS. Gave myself a nick on the chin because I was rushing to much. Have a great evening my friends!

    SharptoothC I bite..........

All part of the journey. I feel like early on I enjoyed the thrill of the hunt, searching for newer and better and seeing what all was out there. Now that I know, I realize that "better" was not always really better. It was just new and the shine hadn't worn off yet. It was exciting. Now I realize that I was fighting over incredibly small increments of change instead of learning to really enjoy what I had. And now that I know how to interact with what I have, I find more enjoyment in the comfort of the known than in the excitement of the unknown. I've learned to value what I already have and grow with it instead of constantly replacing it. Plus, always searching for new ends up being expensive.

Sounds a lot like I'm talking about women, reading back through this.

    NCoxSTL AAACK!

Speaking of security gates - I have to shake my head in bewilderment at our overly hyped security procedures now. Especially with schools. I agree we need to be concerned and security of the kids should be the number one priority. However - we talk the game but how does it play out? Well, let me give you an example that has happened to me over and over. Someone from a school, a teacher, aide, assistant principle, whoever, orders lunch through GrubHub. I show up (or another driver) carrying my GrubHub bag full of food. I also wear a GrubHub cap. All of the schools are locked and have cameras and intercoms now. Some have security guards assigned (usually cops) with metal detectors for everyone entering. So, again, I show up, hit the intercom button and make sure I'm in view of the camera and tell them I have a food delivery for so-and-so. Bzzzzzzz......the door magically opens and I walk right in. With a bag that hasn't been searched and could contain anything. In three different instances I've actually had the security guard open the door and tell me just to head on to the office. No need to put it through the metal detector. Really? And who's to say that I'm not carrying a bag full of guns, or bombs, or knives, or whatever?

I asked one security guard if he had considered that possibility and he just laughed and said "no, you've got all the right gear so it's obvious you work for GrubHub". Really? You've never seen the caps and bags for sale on eBay?! Yeah.

Just something that happens way too frequently, in my humble opinion. If you wanna be secure, be secure. Don't just play at it.
