I went back through some pictures to see if I used any synthetics with the Fat. Seems I've been pretty random with my brush selection. I've used badgers, boars and synthetics with it. I'm sure you'll have it figured out in no time.

I only ever hydrate my soaps on the face when face lathering.

My technique for hard soaps is:

    * Go to the puck with the brush barely damp.
*Load brush by using constant circles with low adjitation and a reasonably constant (angular ) velocity.
*Just dip the tips every now and then.
*(optional) Half way through loading, go to the face and unload the brush a bit.
    *continue.
*Once done, dunk the brush and hydrate properly on the face.

The idea is that lather is for the face, not the puck. Loading with a wet brush or puck gets you P.L.S. and stops you getting the brush properly loaded.

    YMMV IMHO PAOR ETC.

Thanks Perry! I'll be curious to see if The Fat behaves any differently for you with a synthetic brush.

I did load the brush in the same manner you suggested. Dry brush adding a few drops of water every so often. The only difference is that I primarily bowl lather.

You might be onto something with the brush then, they are extremely good at lathering soap!
(I think its the bristle density and thinness which does it.)

It takes very little for my MWF to bloom tbh. It is one of the easiest soaps i have to lather. I usually put that down to my amazing water quality though.

I normally use an Omega boar on Fat Fridays and have used some badgers since October 1, so I'm quite interested as well.
