I have shaved with several of them. I have also given several away. At the end of the day, a duck is a duck. I think there is no reason to pay an extrodinary price to acquire a duck unless a person determines that a duck is in order. The same goes for a Fatboy, or a Bottom Dial... At the end of the day; hey, it is your money, so enjoy your shave.
They are still in business under the DD name just not doing SRs I am pretty sure it was either the mid 70s or mid 80s when they stopped selling SRs
What about their strops. My mother bought me a special no 1 strop and I'm trying to get an about date on it.
Gorgeous brush. I really want a dubl duck razor. Everyone says they are great razors. I'm making a thread for the strop now.
It's just a name. As long as the blade is in good condition, and honed properly, it will shave just as well as a Dubl Duck. . I prefer F.W.Engels razors.
That is another brand I want to get. So far in my opinion (which doesn't mean anything) the Japanese razors I have give a better, more comfortable shave than my German made razors. That is just my opinion but I don't care. Hell 90 percent of the fun of this hobby is trying new things rather it be razors or soaps or strops.
LOL yeah your avatar says it quite effectively That Hayashi 8000 is one of the best Factory Shavers I have ever used, put simply I will eat Raman before I sell my Japanese razors or Nakayama stone
I concur with this statement. Except for the ramen part. I'll eat ramen anytime, whether I sell my quality Japanese razors or not.
Okay..... Kay..... Now I gots ta know...... Is it 'rah-men' Or 'ray-men' ???? I have very important need to be more right than my offspring.
The hayashi is a great razor. But for me my kikuboshi super kikuboshi is A little better shaving razor.
