I had just enough time between doing the morning drop off chauffeuring and picking up one grand daughter for her mid morning dentist visit to get an unhurried shave. Jim
@jluc swapped a full bar of Stirling's glycerin rich preshave soap my way. After abusing my tub of MWF I though I'd give it a try in case the lanolin leached out. Wet my face and rubbed the bar into my stubble expecting some kind of lather. Nope, clear soap was left behind. A little hand agitation brought up the foam! I didn't try for a full on lather, just made sure it was evenly distributed. Gave the boar bristles a couple minutes of soak while that happened, then shook the brush out. Easy loading from the MWF with the puck firmly swollen in the tub. Good lather in the bowl, too. If I ever go Minimalist I'll be a boar brush guy. Same razor & blade as last shave - pretty much same results. The Stirling PSS is marked "Mentholated" but it's not strong from my first use. Maybe the cooling is on the inside? I have Proraso Green PSS and it's in your face cold. I 'll use the Stirling often just for the coat of slippery glucerin and other skin enhancing ingredients. Finished with the woody goodness of Proraso Red that reminds me of pencil shavings. Turns out we had the date wrong on the dentist visit - it's Monday. No, Melody, you can't skip school. After I dropped her back off, I got a snap tight dish for the PSS. Then I stopped by the pawn shop and got a Beretta 92FS I've been eyeing. It was on sale.
Good Shaves Y'all!
