Great shave Rick! There isn't much menthol in the Stirling Pre-Shave, but that bar will last quite a while! I've been using mine for well over a year and a half.

My bar has been in use for seventeen months of near daily shaves. It has a little life left but not much.

Can't remember how long I've been using mine, but it's been quite a while. This is my second bar. I may try the PAA Cube next.

I bought this bar on the Black Friday sale last November (just looked at my previous orders), so it's been almost a year. It'll run out before then though.

    Thank you Gentlemen!
Thank you Jim & Andrew! I'm comparing it to Proraso Green PSS which is quite strong. Stirling mentions "This level of menthol is cooling but not in a Glacial kind of way". After placing the bar in an airtight container, I sniffed it - just the slightest hint of menthol scent & not much else. It'll be great for using with any other brand of SS.
Long life stuff! The back label call it "bath soap". I've used a couple of samples of theirs, but they didn't last long. Any idea of the number of uses from a full sized bar of bath soap? I wonder if it's the same formula.

That's one I'm curious about. Several variations since the original? I've little experience with PAA products.

I don't get a lot of uses from the bath soaps. Some people have said a bar of soap will last them a month in the shower, but mine last 7-10 days. Not worth it for the price, unfortunately. The sample bath soaps that come with orders last me about three showers max.

But, apparently there is a large contingent of folks who get many more uses than that from the full-size bath soap.

Interesting comments on pre-shave soaps. Next up for my pre-shave soap is Stirling Sheep Soap. Rod threw in a complimentary bar on my first Stirling order a couple of years ago, and I've used it on and off since then. It's incredibly moisturizing on my face. I'm currently using a bar of Dr. Bronner's Castile Soap with a slivver of shave soap welded to it. Dr. Bronner's is a very gentle hippie soap (I hum, "I'd like to buy the world a Coke and live in perfect harmony" every time I use it), but it's notorious for leaving soap scum residue. My Bride grandfathered this last bar, but after it is used up, it goes the way of Clubman in our house. Gone, baby, gone!

I use the same bar of soap for my nightly face washes as well, so I get four or five months out of a bar.

Thanks guys! I feel like a normal freak again. :)

My shave of the day was pretty much exactly the same as yesterday only the Soap and AS were Stirling Noir. The LC with the PolSilver blade is an amazing combo. Stirling makes a great soap and AS.

I should clarify that I use the Stirling mentholated pre-shave soap as a face wash soap. I lather up my face and then lather up my shave soap. When the brush is good and loaded and ready for face lathering I'll wash off the Stirling pre-shave suds and leave my face nice and wet and ready for the shave soap. I don't lather on top of the pre-shave suds.
