So I tried the Clubman Shave Lather in the green tube. It is a brushless cream that is great with a brush. I found it also has a bit of menthol in it. Not bad stuff at all!

Working again tonight then tomorrow night. I hope you are all doing well...even the bowl lathering cold water bloomers.

    OCtober OC & MWF

The Fat, suribachi bowl, & cool water
    30DC 2019 Meet Up brush
Yaqi DOC head, Maggard #18 handle
    B&M Reserve Cool AS sample
SOTD 10122019.gif Got a great voluminous, creamy, slick lather from the Mitchell's using a synthetic knot. Ran some water over the brush tips, shook it out, loaded for 20-30 seconds. I wasn't sure it was enough soap. Rather than drop water into the brush I wet the bowl and dumped the excess water to simulate the effect of a usual brush soak. Agitation brought the lather in the slow manner MWF seems to prefer. Couple of additional dribbles across the knot and it was as good as any batch I've made from most any other soap. My first choice of razor was the Univinlions kamishavette. A WTG pass on my cheeks told me it needs a fresh blade so it got rinsed and put away. Out came the same razor I've enjoyed
last couple of shaves. Blade felt good so I went with it. Very close, no errors, happy camper. Snipped the top of the AS sample and dribbled some into my palm - blue. Like really blue. Their website says,"classic Italian barbershop staple, notes of bergamot, lemon, and lavender" & blue color. It smells OK, has a nice alcohol burn, and doesn't seemed to have changed my skin color. I wonder if it's just the sample or if the full sized bottle are so blue.
    Good Shaves Y'all!

I'm a lime products user, but haven't tried either of those! Godrej soap in a puck, and a number of vintage Avons. But not those two. Nice.

I've made it this far Joseph. Enjoying the Mitchell's lathers! Can't promise I won't slip in a shave with something else, but The Fat is light in scent so all post shave products are in play.
I recall that scene. I think he was doing the common cart shave and using too much pressure. :innocent

Yup, my Reserve Cool is blue as well, but I believe the newer version in the brown bottle is clear.

I haven't bloomed a soap all week! Not since last weekend, but that was trying to get the MWF to swell up ans sit still. Hope you're doing well Fuzzy! Decided to wear long pants this weekend. I guess Fall is here. Next thing you know I'll have to put on socks.
Thank you Gary! I'm enjoying The Fat. At first I thought it was just a fad, but it's decent soap.
With their reference to Italy and barbershop scents, I wonder if this is a Floid Blue knockoff. Never tried it that one so I'll rely on the experience of others.

    SOTD:
Beautiful shave this morning, its been a while since ive used my puck of Uncle Jon's pipe smoke, and ive missed it! It has a fantastic tobacco/ vanilla scent, it definitely has the strongest scent out of all my shaving soaps, and i absolutely love the stuff. 20 seconds of loading produces tons of lather, more than enough for 3 passes. Ive definitely made up my mind, and for me in general, tallow based soaps blow glycerine ones out of the water in terms of slickness and performance in general. There are a few exceptions, like the fantastic bundubeard coffee puck which performs every bit as well as most tallow based soaps, but as a rule of thumb, i tend to prefer the tallow based soaps.

Razor: Gillette super speed flare tip (UK)
    Brush: Wilkinson sword classic
    Blade: feather hi-stainless (3)
    Soap: Uncle Jon's pipe smoke

The early aftershaves had coloring. He received a lot of complaints so the coloring was removed when the aftershaves were repackaged in the brown bottles.
    Very nice, Matthew!
