After experiencing a wonderful shavette shave yesterday using my new v-type grip to make that elusive under the jaw, upper neck, side to center move.... I wanted to check it out with my top straight, the Rasoir Sabre - My Fine Steed. I think I can do this with all my straights despite the additional bulk of some.

The Blue Ming was 'game on' today being out early. I did throw him for a loop by not getting out a brush..... You see, somewhere I made the statement the other day that with my water, I could probably shave without a brush. So I tried it.

No incredible damage, but for future reference it is not recommended when 'chasing the baby' with a straight for the second day in a row.

Now I know that some of ya'all never leave the sink without a BBS, but I usually focus on comfort.

First, alternately using your hands to apply an incredibly slick soap like Stirling, then pick up a straight is ill-advised. You really need get some alum on your hands to get the grippy needed on the razor. And... You really never get a puffy lather, even with a washcloth. So.... Max Headroom declares 'Suds is Boss'.
Second, there is no residual sickness. Edge forward, you can see the soapy water carving off similar to what is seen in good honing. Then, almost nothing is left for that quick second or third swipe. Almost dry.

End result was a near match to yesterday. I didn't bother to check it with a cotton ball, cause I failed that test yesterday.

Alum was noisy, but not screaming 'fire'. Rinsed it off like usual, and grabbed the 'face freezin' Stirling Glacial Witch Hazel. Smells like Bengay, but it is..... oh so cool soothing.

Finished up with the Dirty South Shavers AS.

    Have a great week gang!

To those engaged in the challenges of life, you have my prayers.

I have plenty of French Market Creole blend if anyone needs a cup. No sugar or cream though. Guess no girly coffee around the Guard house today.

I don't see Beaudelaire currently listed on the website. It may be a seasonal release? Not sure.

    Thanks Calvin!
It's a cool razor, some have issues with it.
    Me, I like it.
Oh and, wintertime, I need to wet the lather more. That stops the jumping and sticking. I should have known better.

I forget if it's a H1 or H2, its the hussy. Works great with a new B-20 blade in it.
The head shave is a bit tricky if you don't pay attention, but it gives a great shave. Haven't used it for a while, hhhmmmm....

    Good Monday morning to everyone!
Another chilly morning in the woods.
Got a second razor from @Jayaruh before he took his dive off a ladder. I looked at his blogg, he's doing better. Haven't tried it out yet, well that's just not right!
Gonna be a long day, so Bay Rum and hot coffee to start the day out right.
I also used Stirling bar soap for the shower, might as well go the distance.
This razor like its kin, shaves great with a new Personna GEM blade.
    20191014_061233.jpg

Another great razor to add to the list.
When I get a razor that shaves so close and effortlessly like this one, I feel sad for those who don't have one.
A 2 x 2 head and face shave with no issues, and I smell just great!
    All
    Enjoy

I once tried to pour some milk in my coffee, just to see what it was like. My coffee is so strong, it jumped up and beat the tar out of the cow. Haven't tried that again. Oh, the cow is alright, a bit coffee shy now, but she's OK.

Great shave, Neil! I hope the meetings go well and the trip to the doctor is uneventful.
Well no one can say you didn't try. Interesting that there was no residual slickness.

    OCtober 14th
    Razor: OneBlade Core
    Blade: Feather FHS (2)
    Brush: PAA Starcraft
    Pre-shave: Stirling Mentholated
    Soap: Mitchell's Wool Fat
    PAA witch hazel
    PAA unscented Star Jelly
    AS: Aqua Velva Ice Blue

    MWF on MWF

Terrific shave to start the day! Three passes for near BBS. Silent alum.

The Core felt very smooth. I'm actually contemplating picking up a stainless version someday.

15 second load of the pre hydrated Fat provided plenty rich slick lather for three passes and then some. I wasn't sure if I had loaded enough soap at first. Gradually adding the reserved pre hydration water the lather came together quickly.

    Have a great week! [IMG]
