If you have a TJ Maxx or Marshall's in your area, might be worth the trip to check out inventory. Much of what you would find at Macy's, Sak's, Art of Shaving, etc. etc.....anywhere from 40-80% off mall and/or retail prices. Real stuff too, it appears, no worrying about dupes from dubious sellers on the bay or other. Dropped by 2 Marshall's last week, and while there was a little overlap on the shelves, not much. One close to me, has a 3 tier shelf about 12 feet wide of nothing but AS/EdT/Cologne/Deodorant products & fragrances from Nautica, Hugo Boss, AoS, Axe (ugh), Polo, Burberry, etc. etc. I found the 100ml AoS Vetiver Citron cologne intense for $20. They were happy to open the theft proof box so I could verify contents not damaged or half full....

    Monday OCtober 14

Today I used a razor I've not used before - it kind of scared me a bit. A Palmera with a 6 and a 5 stamped on the razor plate. The Waits Compendium doesn't show this razor, but does show a Palmera model 15 so I'm thinking or hoping this is a model 65. The razor plate on this razor is very slightly curved from side to side and I was concerned the blade would not be held properly. Well, there is a lot of exposed blade but if used carefully, this razor is fine.

    Bowl/Scuttle - GP12
    Soap - MWF (it's Monday)
    Brush - ThatDarnRob Masque 26mm V3 Fanchurian
Blade - Feather HI SS (9)
    Razor - Palmera 65 (Spain)
Post Shave - OSMA Pierre alum, Epsilon Blue A/S (Spain)

    Shave rating 5 of 5

I did a one pass shave today, WTG and was DFS+ which surprised me. This razor looks like a cross between a caged head and a long comb. This razor is VERY AGGRESSIVE, very efficient, a lot of exposed blade and a lot of blade feel. I needed to use a very light touch, ride the cap to reduce the blade feel, and I surprised myself with a very good shave save for one nick. Definitely not an every day driver. The MWF lathered and lubricated well. I had the one nick but otherwise the alum was quiet. Epsilon Blue finished off the shave.

Overall, a surprisingly great shave. Have a few more French and English razors that will be the razors for my next few shaves this week.

Happy OCtober and great shaves everyone.

No brush, Bill? I can’t even...
An entertaining write up as always!
Before you were here, Joe, there was a person on here who very quickly earned the CT ‘Shavette Fu’ because of his very long, semi-insulting multiposts. He happened to be based in Italy. That was the root of Fuzzy and I joking back and forth. No insult to your heritage intended.
Very nice, Jim. If you want to be talked off the ledge of buying the new razor, you could always ask @clint64 for advice...:eatdrink047:
Everything looks so nice, Clint. That razor looks perfect, and is a great match for the handle of the brush.
There’s that razor again, Jim! Please tell me it is an awful shaver so that I can stop fixating...
I didn’t even know Fraser’s made a Mosswood, Tom. You have some very original, older Canadian gear for sure.
Great looking razor, Blair, but it is the Heritage again which is catching my eye!
Simply awesome pic, Doug. Yes, it seems to be well acknowledged now that Delta Echo isn’t doing razors anymore and there is some concern for the owner. I reached out in the early spring myself and didn’t get an answer, either. Was going to get the Red Tip done.
Nacets are really cheap right now at Italian Barber.
    What a great weekend, Perry!
A great sounding shave, Gary. Enjoy your day off.
Very nice, Evan. Sounds like you’ve become a honing maestro.
Yes, the Canadian version of Marshalls (same company, same awful tough to get off price stickers) is Winners. I have done well there with software- Dr Harris cream, lots of Proraso stuff, even a tub Strop Shoppe soap. Thayers toner is often stocked, too. My best purchases there- I have found many SV bath soaps in different scents over the past few years as well.

I was more surprised than anything else. I can take a good-natured ribbing about my heritage. Thanks for the explanation, Jason.
