I purchased this brush yesterday. I have been so pleased with Karve Shaving Co. products I wanted see how their brushes compare with other that I have and enjoy. I'm seeing a lot of things (not just handles) made from discarded maple skate decks lately. Is there some sort of a buyback program for broken boards that I didn't know about as a kid? When I broke a deck it went into the fireplace, not to a brush factory. Where do these guys get all the broken boards from?
Hi, I've sent an email to Chris at Karve Shaving Co.. I should have an answer soon. I will get back to you.
The response from Chris at Karve is that they source the wood from the same place that skate board manufacturer does for their decks.
