Thanks the vintage old spice Avon thread got me going. I picked up that sampler and really liked the lime. Reviewed the Avon scents at base notes and found the Blue Blazer. It does remind me of C&M Jockey Club at a fraction of the cost. I’m get the others in the wild.

Thank you Gary! I was very happy to become the new holder of the cap & base plate from The Traveling Box. When (redacted) @gorgo2 contacted me for my mailing info to send the handle my joy doubled. He had the unit refinished in a very bright nickel at the now defunct Razorplate company. You spotted the Red&Black case that JR @Jrdelgado had recently located to bring the full package together.

I did it differently each time. My dad and I came up via the opposite side of it than is shown here-I was 19, he was 55 Still a steep climb, but at more of an angle than the wall going straight up over the lake.. . My mom gave strict orders to watch out for him, even though he'd done it many times before. He did slip and fall near the top but was OK after shaking it off. When we got to the top, what did he do. Downed a shot of whiskey to celebrate!!! (I didn't have any). The next time my sister and I did it with a professional rope-climber, going up the right side of it. Quite nerve-wracking, but he knew what to do-we just did what he told us. I can still see the lovely view of the sunrise over Denver as we were climbing up the toughest part. After we finally got up to the top, my sister asked me how I'd feel if we went down the way my Dad and I did it...thus no ropes. I was fine with it, and the pro understood our feelings, for which we were grateful. People who climb it begin the trail around 4 AM..still dark,
