I wanna join. I have 4 Rockwell Razors. * 2 Rockwell 6S * 1 Rockwell Model T * 1 Rockwell 6S Jet Black Today's shave; * Rockwell 6S Jet Black (R6, R5, and R4) * VdH Boar * VdH Bowl * Captain's Choice Heavy Copper Bowl * Vintage Colgate * Gentleman Jon's Alum Block * Clubman Special Reserve AS/EdC * Taconic Urban Woods Solid EdC * Old Spice Endurance Deodorant The Rockwell Jet Black was smooth and efficient. I'm not wondering if the coating gives just a little more gap. Sent from my SM-G965F using Tapatalk
Since you have those razors, could you compare them in terms of efficiency and comfort? I'm curious about the T
Hi welcome. I would like to read a comparison between the normal and Jet Black 6s.. Gesendet von meinem Redmi Note 4 mit Tapatalk
No problem, let me get a few shaves under my belt with the Jet Black. Sent from my SM-G965F using Tapatalk
Hay guys, My Rockwell family is gettin bigger. A second 6s is arriving soon. What about you? How big is your rockwell family, and whats your favorite setting in the 6 series? Gesendet von meinem Redmi Note 4 mit Tapatalk
Rockwell makes good stuff and they really stand behind their product. Let's see what I have so far; Rockwell 6S (2 each) Rockwell Model T Gunmetal (1 each) Rockwell 6S Jet Black (1 Each) On the 6S versions I like going from R6 for my WTG, R5 for my XTG, R4 for my \TG, and R3 for my Underarms. On the Model T I go R4 WTG, R3 XTG, R2 \TG, and R1 for my Underarms. Unless I goof around I always get a great shave with my Rockwells without nicks, cuts, or irritation. I can throw any blade I want into it and not worry. I am very impressed with these line of products.
So, here we go for the comparisons. The only difference between the the regular 6S and the Jet Black is the Jet Black is just a tiny bit more efficient. Not by much, but just enough to notice. I think it has to do with the coating giving just a slight bit more blade gap. The Model T is just a bit more efficient than the 6S series. So, an R4 on the Model T is about equal to R6 on the 6 series give or take half a step. The Model T being hollow and having more moving parts is a more aggressive beast. I like using my Model T for travel, but my 6S is my go to. If you play golf you can think of the 6S as a Cavity Back and the Model T as a Blade. The 6S is just a bit more forgiving. Right now my favorite is the Jet Black. I get great shaves with any one of these razors, but the Jet Black hits that sweet spot.
In last weeks I get back my love for the 6s more and more. Im already thinking about selling my Rex. Gesendet von meinem Redmi Note 4 mit Tapatalk
Is there someone who has the Rex too and prefers the Rockwell over the Rex? Gesendet von meinem Redmi Note 4 mit Tapatalk
In my opinion they are both on par with one another. That's if you are talking about the Rockwell Model T. I have the N4 series in the Rex. However, I have yet to find something that is as nice as my Rockwell 6S and 6S Jet Black.
Thanks for the comparisons! I am very happy with my 6s, and I'm tempted by the Model T, but I can wait a while... I think.
Are the newer 6s models more polished? Mine is a dark gray industrial look. I find that sometimes it feels like the head drags on my face. Not sure what that is.
Both are the same. My first is about 15 months old. The other Was bought on bst,but Looks almost unused. I don't have any drag with the 6s. But I do have drag with the Rex Ambassador sometimes. My fav soap is Arko. Gesendet von meinem Redmi Note 4 mit Tapatalk

Tobacco Thursday My wife got me the Model T for Christmas, and this was my first shave with it. I am already very impressed. I used it wide open and it was very efficient and completely comfortable. It is well balanced and beautiful. It shaved closer than the 6s on the 6 plate and every bit as smooth. It sounds different as it mows down the stubble, more hollow-like. My face feels and smells great.
