This brush will conquer and lather any soap I've tried so far. Soft creams to hard pucks. Love this AV scent too, a timeless classic that has survived . Have a great weekend my friends!

Hi Danny and all my 30 Day Crew Brothers!

I'm still around and continuing my OCtober focus! I'm even helping a young gent get started with a Gillette Tech kit. He likes tobacco scented products (the tobacco discussion initiated by @b1hart a few days back was very timely), so I'm lining him up with Stirling Haverford soap and aftershave. I'll also throw in puck of Tabac so that he can partake of a classic old man scent. :)

Danny, I pray that you and your family have begun the healing process. I am so sorry to hear of the loss of both your parents. Words cannot express how difficult that is for a son or daughter. You have to lean on God for the strength, as well as family and friends. My Bride and I have both walked that road, and it is very difficult.

After a long series of tests, my Bride received a diagnosis this week that requires weekly treatments going forward. She completed another test today, and then we met with a Nurse Practitioner to help us understand what lies ahead. It will take several weeks for us to settle into our new routine, so I'll drop in as I can. (I miss this band of shady characters when I don't check in.) I'm sure it will get better once we establish our new norm. It wasn't the diagnosis we wanted, but we are trusting in the Lord and we have hope. (That's all I really want to share in the open thread.) I thank all of you for the prayers, encouragement, and kind words. Please keep the prayers coming!

My Bride's condition required us both to stop volunteering at the children's hospital due to the infection risk. Hopefully, we will be able to pick it up again sometime early next year. However, today was my first day working individually with some sweet kids in a local Kindergarten class. We are working on numbers, letters, and memory words. I plan to volunteer a couple of hours a week, and I already love it. My Bride loves the weekly break from Charlie as well. :)

I was talking with one of my kids today about the colors we were wearing. I called out my black shoes, blue pants, and red shirt. She quickly reminded me that I had silver in my hair. :happy102: I love it!

You all take care and have a great weekend. I plan to be around enough to keep things stirred up. :)

Thanks for checking in Charlie. You and your wife are in my prayers and I appreciate yours. It has been a tough time but I have realized through this time how really blessed our family is. Take care and stick your head in the door when you get time

Keep on doing what you do Terry! With the possible exception of a hit or near miss by a black hole, we'll be here when you have the time.
Joe, my father has an orchard with 60 or 75 satsuma trees. They are just about to get sweet enough to combat the citric acid sourness. This IS satsuma season! The navels, grapefruit, and blood oranges ripen a little while later.

    OCtober with the FAT

    October 18

Razor - Gem Micromatic Open Comb
Blade - CVS Carbon Steel SE (3)
    Soap - Mitchell's Wool Fat
    Brush -Jayaruh #230
    Post - Alum

Third shave with the OCMM and CVS carbon. It's Friday so out comes the FAT and the JR230 had the privilege of turning it into its usual fine lather. Very slick and protective and the three passes were smooth as silk and produced nothing but a perfect shave. Short and sweet - both the shave and the report! Hope you have plans for a fun and productive weekend - or a fun weekend where you do nothing because you don't have to!!

Thanks Jason! I'll spill the beans since you probably already have one. @Terry has three? It's a long handled Black Beauty, of the black plastic base plate era. I haven't dug for details but it might be someones Birth Year. Had to give it the butter knife treatment for one low guard. No where near pristine, but it looks serviceable.
Thanks Patrick! Just might use it next shave and break my OC Focus. Here's the homecoming photo with someone else's soap still stuck to it. I don't see the standard Letter & Number date code. Gave it a once over with toothbrush and Dawn but it could use another treatment before I shave with it.

I resisted long as I could. Had a phone at the house, another at work. What else does anyone need? Now I google random stuff fourteen time each day where ever I am. My Yellow Pages app links to the GPS, and can dial my phone for me. Having a faster processor and more storage than my first desktop computer? It's more computer than we needed to get to the moon.
That's what I was thinking when I lathered that preshave soap...
Just might give it a go as a shave lather. The Stirling, not M.Williams.
