Why for you no shave today huh?

Well for me, i has a bit of rash :(
Not sure if its from the blades, the soaps, the AS's or crap technique but its a no shave day for sure.

I feel like a tramp already and its only been 36hrs lol.

Didn’t shave this morning. Waiting on the Postman to bring me my new Razor Today. Showed it’s at the post office but you never know. Keeping my Fingers Crossed. Might be an Evening Shave.
    ( I HOPE ).

I shave, on average, 2-3 times a week, just as a matter of course. Today was "the" day. Have a meeting Monday night so I might shave before that. Or not! One of the "bennies" of being no longer working every day.

I used to shave as little as possible when i used carts.
I don't know how i used to cope with long stubble!

Sorry to hear about the rash Jon.
    Hope it gets better soon.
I don't have a "no shave day". I sometimes shave twice a day, if something special is going on. Otherwise I look like a bum. Luckily, I've only had 2 a day's a few times this year. If I use somthing like a MMOC or a Razorock Blackhawk with a Feather blade, it's not too bad later in the day, thank goodness.

    Yea!
Imagine just shaving, smooth, clean. But looking like you need to shave.
6 hours later you need a shave.
I don't understand it. My father and brother could skip days, not look to bad.
Me, I was blessed with this cursed stuff.
Carts tore me up pretty bad some days.
I shaved with HOT water, lotsa soap, in the shower and did the best I could.
Never could use anything other than a single blade thingy either.
    Lucky me...

Yes, but up until about June or July, I only shaved at all about once every few weeks. And then just to touch up my neckline. Up until then, I looked like this!

I didn't shave today. I shaved yesterday and I've found that with my improved implements and technique my shaves are so close that they easily last me about 36 hours. I don't need to shave every day so I find I shave every other day or every 3 days. My face appreciates a little rest and my shaves are better if there is a little more growth. If I do shave two days in a row, my shave on the second day would be with a mild razor like a RR Old Type or a vintage pre-war Tech.

I now use a straight razor everyday for a full face shave. A properly maintained SR is probably the most gentle way to shave. It's become a routine to strop the night before and hand strop sometimes between passes. I then do some stropping post shave and air dry while I am away at work.

I have the utmost respect for you folks who can, and do, use a straight razor.

    RyX DoH!

Many of mine are. With grandkids in the house I prefer to have that quiet, peaceful time after they get to bed. It's balanced by having their assistance in choosing my set up, and sharing the leftover lather and a dab of AS.
I found that to be true. Carts were because I had to shave. Now I'm not required to be shaven, but I'm enjoying the process and gear. Every other day is just about right.
