I glycerin bomb the SV splashes like all the others. I didn't want to mess up the scent by over adding menthol. I menthol bomb my witch hazel that I use before applying the splash.

Makes perfect financial sense to me.

When we were discussing tobacco scents I enabled myself into ordering the A&E Vanille de Tabac soap and aftershave. Threw in a couple of tucks of blades to get free shipping.

i keep the fine platinum and american blend pucks in my old spice mugs.they don't get used that often.they are also covered but not totally airtight..while both are not scent free per se its hard to tell what they were..

 

fine splashes have some fantastic scents and they last a while..

Got an ingrown hair on my neck, so no shaving for me today. I don't think that my technique slipped, and i didn't have any ingrowns during my focus. I'm thinking is it the brush (not as scrubby), the blade (not as sharp) or just coincidence that it happened now? The hairs tend to grow quite flat against the skin on my neck.

3 pass DFS. First shave with the Supply Company Single Edge V2. Traveling shave this morning. Hot towel, applied PS. Face lathered. Slick enough. First pass was ‘riding the cap’, even they mention this on their website to learn the angle for using this razor. Using the ‘medium’ plate and the blade the razor shipped with. Very mild in comparison to other DE setups I have. Not a big reduction of 48 hours growth on the first pass. Going for blade feel, second pass was much better, more angle, a little slight addition of pressure. Third pass was the charm, DFS easily happening, a little buffing the problematic neck and jawline.

Very nice razor. Hefty. Great craftsmanship. Love it’s simplicity and design. Ordered the polished SS version. Even with it’s slick polishing, no problem holding with damp hands. Purchased the extra 2 heads, so I have mild/medium/aggressive options. I’ll be swapping to the aggressive head, and will report back.

As usual, an all Proraso software choice provided a great aroma and everything needed when predictably is called for.

The scents for their splashes are stronger than their soaps. I found over time the soaps lose their scents but the performance is excellent.

 

One final thought-ask your barber. Does he/she have a catalogue in the shop from which you can order Clubman products, such as the Shave Cream if it's there? That's how I was able to order my Stephan Bay Rum A.S. At the time I didn't know it was available on Amazon.

 

Last time i was at a barbershop was 18 years ago. But i'll visit or call a local place and ask if they could order some. Thanks!
