Today's shave incorporated the last of my straights: Ralf Aust.
With further apologies to Scott, I continued my ritual vis-à-vis blade stropping.
I won't repeat it here, but suffice it to say: it seems to give me the edge with which I can really get successful results.

Take it from Primo, that T2 knot is loaded for bear.
    Shiny, too.

BTW, that's not dirt, those flecks are the last remnants of Captain Black Tobacco and Vanilla Bean.
Now, what you have all been anxiously awaiting, my shave report.
Plink, plink, plink went the Trolley, I mean the blade.
No hesitation, no dragging, no irritation.
Simply put, three passes with perfunctory clean-up resulting in a Sunday-Shave-Extraordinaire.

two healthy doses of Cigar Aficionado AS, first massaged well, second dabbed.
Good smell for a cheap juice.

Thanks for your input, Keith! I know it's not just me that noticed the scent disappears from the puck, but the performance is very good.

Super pic, Blair! Congrats on the razor...I had one on loan and agree about the middle plate. A 3rd pass was always needed. The 3 dot plate is more aggressive, and I recall doing 2 passes with it.

    Good Sunday morning all.
Had the little ones overnight, they don't sleep as well as I like to, so I'm slightly tired.
Need some more coffee to get going.
The morning shave was ok, yesterday's shave is still haunting me. My neck is in need of a reprieve, so I got out the GEM Contour I picked up and a new Personna GEM blade instead of the other super speed. Haven't had this issue for a while, but haven't used a mild razor for some time. I know better than to try and get a good clean shave with a mild mannered razor. Should have stopped at 2 passes with it, my skin is tender, I know this well.
The 58 Super Speed works great, it's the user interface that's the issues. Try as I may, getting a close smooth shave with one of these marvellous razors isn't going to happen. I need a mean looking, cranky old style razor, with a crazy sharp blade to get a clean, smooth, issues free shave. Sounds counterintuitive, but that's as real as it gets here in the woods gentlemen.

Used the Clubman Pinaud soap and the "dippity doo" way of loading my cheap Perfecto brush.
Got great lather, nice, slick and good. The soap has a very mild scent so I went with lucky Tiger, it's got a nice scent and feels good on the face. Should've used the Razorock soap that goes so well with it, but I changed gears in mid shave. The Contour was a nice 2 pass shaver, nothing wrong with this one.
Probably pull out a MMOC or the RR Blackhawk a few days till my neck is all better. Doesn't look bad, I just have gotten spoiled with great, wonderful, OMG can this really be happening, no issues shaving.
    All
    Enjoy

Used wet tip technique to load from the tub and face lathered to an awesome lather. 2.5 passes, 1 weep, irritation-free, IBSS++ was the result. Applied the matching aftershave and I was quite satisfied to face the world. Have a marvelous Sunday, guys! 20191020_093751.jpg 20191020_093751.jpg
