Gonna have to do a meat up with these Northern Illinois folk someday... I drive right through that area several times a year...

 

This has turned into the How's Your Pen thread here lately!

Nothing much new around these parts 'cept work is busy lately. What's happening folks?

 

Well, I submitted ONS to Reddit.com and now my hits soared up to 61 today!

I've been upgraded to Super Stropped--- thus the new avatar.

Other than that... not much.

Hey Matt. Chops on the grill sound great. Can't hardly wait till my grill gets here in a couple of weeks! Have you fried up any of that 32 pounds of monster fish yet?

Hey Pam. Gardening is a happy thing! Good for you. I'll be working on your pen tonight (finally) and should have it in the mail for you tomorrow. Will post a pic somewhere after it's polished and writing well (shiny!).

 

blah mood

I'm just in a kind of blah mood. I'm not sure what's going on... I'm bored, listless, and unmotivated. Don't really feel up to reading, writing, watching a tv show, watching a movie, or seriously surfing the web. I just feel blah. I'd say I hate feeling this way, but hate is too strenuous of an emotion to waste the effort over this ambivalence I'm feeling. :|

It wasn't 32 pounds.... but probably about 25, maybe? Never weighed it, but it was about 34-35 inches long.... but now that I think about it, maybe it was close to that weight....hmm...I'll have to ask a buddy of mine what he thinks....

Either way, it will hit the grill tomorrow night! Well, one filet will. Each filet is about 2" thick on the thick end, and tapers down over about 18" in length.... friggin' huge!!! I'll take pics.... I love grilling and taking pics of food....

I bet you guys get some good fishing up there, huh? Probably mostly salmon and tuna charters?

 

Evening folks.. Have not had time to be on much nor will I be on long. Today started at 0230 with a knock on my bedroom door that necessitated a trip to the local hospital. Not for me. Long story that I might tell sometime.. So made it back home just in time for a quick wash the hair and fast shave with a nice 1912 Damskeene that I had not used before. Shave was fair at best.


So finally fed and relaxing. Soon to bed. Just wanted to check in with everyone. Jim I hope things are going well.

 

Thursday is my day off. I spent the day playing with the kids and working on my honeydo list. Plus, my internet connection is very slow at home. So that's why I wasn't on. That, and I pulled the trigger on my RAD the other night and I didn't want to be tempted again. The wife is very understanding but she does have limits.

I hear you. I've felt the same way most of the day. I ended up playing Grand Theft Auto while my kids were asleep. That kinda snapped me out of it.

 

The final phase in project: jerky is in progress. The downstairs den smells like the marinade as the box fan is going on high. Should be ready to eat by tomorrow morning. And might be gone by Sunday night.

 

Was that for your mother? Hope things turned out okay.

Thank you Mike but no not for my mother.. a friends mother.. as I said long story... OK the Bunny is out.

 

It's addictive stuff. Disappears quick. Better to link the recipe. Anything I might try to pack up could end up gone before the box is sealed.

 

Holy ****! I got the computer I was working on to boot into safe mode!
