    Some fine looking setups Keith!
    Thanks Danny!
I'm glad it worked well for you, Chris! I got the Shark Platinums from IB but I see Amazon has the current best price at 9.99/100.
    That's how its done!!
    Thanks Gary!
    Very nice, Terry!

Very nice Daniel! When I was using alum I would always rinse it off and follow it with witch hazel. I didnt like the way the alum made my skin feel.
    Awesome photo, Jim!
    Excellent shave Perry!
Wonderful shot Clint! I am a fan of citrus scents!
Team building exercises should consist of tacos and beer!
Awesome shave Danny! I fine the ATT likes to be a little more off the cap, I'm sure its just an angle adjustment and you will figure it out.
    Saving excellence, GAry!
    MonoBilt! Nuff said!
Stunning photo Mark! Nice polish on the outlaw!

Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements PS/SC/ASB/AS Cologne - Doppelgänger Grey Label (Homage - Creed Aventus)
Wild West Brushworks - Zenith Boar
Supply Co - The Single Edge v2.0 (plate 3) w/supplied injector blade
    O.R.E.N. Razor - Occam's Razor Enhanced Nano (plate 2)
    Feather Professional
    Gentlemen Jon's Alum

Approached today's shave a little different, wanted to directly compare two razors. The O.R.E.N. loaded with a new Feather Professional AC style blade, and the Single Edge loaded with a new blade from the included injector pack (apparently made by AccuTec Blades). PreShave and lather routine was my usual affair, the WWB w/Zenith boar creating an awesome smelling, slick cushion for each pass. Today I did everything as a face lather, much like I would do when traveling. This is my second use of the Single Edge handle, and first use of the O.R.E.N.

For the first pass, I shaved the left side of my face with the O.R.E.N, and the right side of my face with the Single Edge. Straight WTG pass for both. The Single Edge razor is very pleasant to hold & maneuver. It's heft and handle design quite easy to grip even with damp hands/fingers. The O.R.E.N. takes a little more thought, mainly because it's lighter, has the cutout in the handle & a much wider swath (don't forget that whole new Feather Pro blade apprehension thing). 24 hours of growth reduced mostly the same between the two sides on the first pass. The second pass used XTG stroke. Left side with the Single Edge, right side with the O.R.E.N. I focused much more on angle (blade feel) and pressure this round. With the Single Edge, there is a little amount of blade feel, requires a some pressure to get it's work done. The O.R.E.N. does not like (for me) much pressure at all, and there is no blade feel (kind of odd, you can hear it working rather than feel it). However....no blade feel....doesn't mean the O.R.E.N. isn't shaving....quite the contrary. It's a mean silent beast, and I must've used a tad too much pressure on the jawline/chin area (right side), as I seemingly shaved a very small patch of skin too close. Not bad, but it wasn't just a single weeper....was more of a 'weeping area' much like a road rash oozing. Weirdly, I didn't feel it immediately, I only noticed a minute or so later when I switched to the left side shaving with the Single Edge. I'm like, what's that, I'm not shaving over there...and noticed the issue. Barely enough to wipe off. After the second pass, I could've stopped, both sides were DFS smooth, But...I hadn't completely tested maneuvering the razors around the upper lip/nose area (touch up). This is where both razors are pretty equal, which to say, they didn't do as well as I'd like, and the shave was now running long. My under nostril area is tough to get with any DE/SE razor head. The Single Edge slightly better, but I reverted to one of my Kamisoris to clean that area up on the last pass. So....3 passes, with a little Kamisori under nose touch up, and I'm DFS+ smooth. Pretty impressed with both of these modern style SE razors, but I do need some more patience for under the nose work.

Followed with Gentlemen Jon's alum for the under chin/jawline weeping area, then all over with PAA's Star Jelly ASB. Weeper area no more. Finished off with the matching PAA Doppelgänger Grey Label (Homage - Creed Aventus).

Hope everyone has a Terrific Tuesday!

I went a little overboard on soap-blooming today-(as organization VEEP, I am entitled to do this, so long as I don't flood the bathroom floor), I got another solid shave, in the middle of my 3 shaves with Central Texas Soaps(Weekend Rodeo). I think I'm sensing the difference in the "new" CTS(that is, minus the Bentonite Clay). He swapped the clay for more softening ingredients. It really does provide a pleasant shave. Course the Grandpa's Barbershop I have still has the clay.I'll have more to comment later, after doing the Grandpa's Barbershop. And now, with the cutting of my scotch tape, this post becomes devoted to Fuzzy at radio station @wchnu. We all know how he feels about blooming, let alone when we go a little overboard with it.

Excellent shave and comparison Blair. You'll have to try the Supply with a different blade. The Personna blade works but IMO the Schick or Schick Proline blades are much sharper

I like the look of the fat handle techs. Might have to get one..

    Thank you, Danny!

Thanks, Andrew! I don't have any witch hazel, but i've used some in the past, good stuff. I think the alum isn't going to be a part of my routine, AS+ASB works quite well for me.

Thanks Andrew. Found them. I like sharp blades!

More on that....a little researching on the Single Edge included injector say they are Personna blades like you've mentioned, some other searching indicates that the included blades are actually made by AccuTec. Is this one and the same? There's no labeling (other than a Patent number) on their included injector pack. Maybe it's some sort of licensing/packaging/labeling/$$$ dance.....?
