Thank you. Still enjoying it 4 hours later! Matching the soap, AS splash and beard oil scents does the trick.

FrankenTech (Post-War head) delivered a much more enjoyable shave than the Super 84 yesterday. Yeah a lot of strokes to get to BBS on my head but with the tungsten weighted handle it's a pleasure to use when not in a hurry. Astra SS.[IMG]

    Hi Friends,

here my belated Sunday Shave (20.10.2019)

    Razor: Karve (C-Plate Open Comb)
Blade: Gillette Wilkinson // Polsilver Super Iridium
    Soap: Tabac
    Brush: Felix Schulze 22mm Synthetic
    Aftershave: Tabac

Fantastic again!!! This time i've used the Open Comb C-Plate and had much fun with it.

For me, i find the Closed Comb plate a touch smoother then the OC. So i am glad, i ordered the CC C-Plate and did the right thing.

As i collected the Gillette Wilkinson blades from the customs clearence, i thought of doing a comparison with my reference blade, the Polsilver Super Iridium.

The blades are almost on par. Against the grain the Gillette Wilkinson is a tiny Bit smoother as the Polsilver. Impressing...but this blade had this "Feather" like sharpness to it...this "agressive" sharpness which i do not like at all on the first shave with the Feather. So, next time it will be corked before it's first shave.

Nevertheless i like this blade a lot, because of it's smoothness. It's gentle and thoroughly and did a great Job. I do not loose any words about Tabac...love it or hate it, i adore it...:)

    This is it for now.

Stay safe, enjoy your shaves and take care.

Thank you. The seller polished it up really well and @Jayaruh re-knotted it with an Omega Professional. Love it.

    Tuesday OCtober 22

Today I went with the Grand Shave King SLOC. This gave me a nice mild shave though not as close as the razors from last week.

    Bowl/Scuttle - GP12
Soap - Le Pere Lucien Savon du Barbier (France)
    Brush - Brad Sears
    Blade - Gillette Platinum (6)
    Razor - Grand Shave King
Post Shave - OSMA Pierre alum, Floid SE Mentolado Vigoroso A/S

    Shave rating 4 of 5

This Grand Shave King is a mild razor and not very efficient. I received a good shave in 2 passes. The first pass WTG was smooth with almost no blade feel, and not very efficient and it left me with some stragglers, <DFS. The second pass, XTG and again was a very smooth pass with a little blade feel and and finished DFS. The Le Pere lather generated quickly and was excellent on both passes. I got a 2 pass, nick and weeper free shave. The alum was silent, even on my neck area which is unusual. I finished off with the Floid A/S.

Overall, a really good shave. Going with some US made OC razors this week.

Happy OCtober and great shaves everyone.

    Now i have a minute. ..

A rapid-fire shave this was. Shave stick, synthetic and G.Contour made this a quick but pleasurable razor-express.

In a rush, i would struggle to think of anything better except the dreaded goo....

The G.Contour must have been a jaw dropping revelation to its engineers on release. It is such a pleasure to use (even so for a cart). It it was not so expensive to keep fed and just a little kinder on the kisser, i doubt the safety razors would have caught my attention.

Tabac tuesday obv. And Tabac really loves the Yaqi.

    Shave on!

A post night shift shave. It was a bad night and a worse day. The eldest of our 3 dogs has been going downhill and was scheduled to visit the vet this afternoon. Unfortunately when I got up early afternoon he had already passed so the rest of the day was spent organising a cremation .

I decided to go for something simple this evening and ended up with a really nice 3 pass shave.
