Thanks Clint! Great information as always, I'll put it to good use next time with both razors :) !

My under nose area...whatever razor, whatever head size, has to go in nostril to get high enough, unless it's a square point straight/kami going East<->West. The Single Edge handles this pretty well.

Sounds like our shaving pass directions are pretty similar, for pass 1 and 2. Most times the 3rd pass for me with any DE/SE is very light buffing on the neck/chin/jawline, out to in. No need for a 3rd pass on my cheeks, it's usually just another fun stroke to wipe off the lather :D. With Straights or Kamisoris, I vary the 3rd pass in all sorts of ways for buffing, skin stretching and contortions (to accommodate various blade widths and lengths). Again, it's that lower right area, rarely have an issue on the left lower neck/jawline/chin.

The AC razors (other than my Feather AC DX) have always been an interest, just now getting to the traditional handle style for the AC and injector (B20) blades. Have the Blackland Vector order placed...just waiting. So far, I'm really liking the Single Edge and the O.R.E.N.....not so convinced yet on the OneBlade models (and even moreso considering the current pricing of the O.R.E.N. and Single Edge).

This morning I had to shave and run out the door. I showered last night and wasn't planning on shaving, a meeting got changed to early this morning so it was needed. Just splashed some cold water on my face and did a pass to clean up. No soap, no brush, no aftershave, just the bare minimum.... It was not the most comfortable shave, but no substantial irritation either.

9 more shaves with MWF for a true 30-day focus. This soap keeps impressing.
Loads easily, slickness abounds, and a very good, not terrific,
    post-shave.
This one's for you, Terry. I finally loaded a brand new Super Professional blade in the Feather AC razor and...
should of done that about two shaves ago. Wow!!! What a difference.
I love using this razor. Feels great in the hand and I get to enjoy the feel of a straight razor shave
without the stropping. Now, don't jump to any conclusions, Primo's still a member in good standing with the
Dark Side. But it is nice to just pick up the razor and go to it.
The Rubberset devours soap almost as well as my Simpson Synthetic.

The "doughnut" hole in the soap is widening ever so slowly, but surely.
Even when I load for 10 minutes, I can't seem to use significantly more soap.

    Tuesday OCtober 22

Today I went with the Grand Shave King SLOC. This gave me a nice mild shave though not as close as the razors from last week.

    Bowl/Scuttle - GP12
Soap - Le Pere Lucien Savon du Barbier (France)
    Brush - Brad Sears
    Blade - Gillette Platinum (6)
    Razor - Grand Shave King
Post Shave - OSMA Pierre alum, Floid SE Mentolado Vigoroso A/S

    Shave rating 4 of 5

This Grand Shave King is a mild razor and not very efficient. I received a good shave in 2 passes. The first pass WTG was smooth with almost no blade feel, and not very efficient and it left me with some stragglers, <DFS. The second pass, XTG and again was a very smooth pass with a little blade feel and and finished DFS. The Le Pere lather generated quickly and was excellent on both passes. I got a 2 pass, nick and weeper free shave. The alum was silent, even on my neck area which is unusual. I finished off with the Floid A/S.

Overall, a really good shave. Going with some US made OC razors this week.

Happy OCtober and great shaves everyone.

I just bought a bottle of Fine L'Orange Noir (about 90% remaining) and a tub of Country Club for Men Barnstormer soap. The Barnstormer was a special edition made for the Dirty South Shavers group. It's based on the scent of Stetson. They happened to be for sale on a Facebook BST, so I grabbed them.

But, that means I've got to offload some stuff. One in and one out is a @jtspartan mantra and I'm liking it.

First thing to go up for sale will be my Sharp Dressed Man set from Stirling. Nice scent but I prefer a few of the other scents I have from Stirling. Maybe I can pull the trigger on something else to sell as well.

While not ideal, it isn't that bad as long as you use enough water and watch your technique. I also only did a single pass to look presentable. Any more I think there would have been a bit of irritation. Before finding traditional wet shaving, I was a shower shaver and normally only used water with a Mach 3. Give it a shot some time.
