Well gentlemen. I got the deed done . A couple days growth is now gone .Very carefully but yet efficiently and I'm smoother than a babys butt. This was my 1st straight shave btw for anyone wondering .
It began by mentioning a razor Bill
@Edison Carter used one day and how much I liked it and would like to try a straight blade ( not a butterknife ). After a brief discussion , he kindly gave me this Wagner and also a Gold Dollar he had too. Both were shave ready ( Thanks for that ) and arrived with a nice sample of Stirling Gentleman, which I also used in this shave .
I passed the sample under her nose first and was given approval to go ahead and lather my brains out .
I thought the shavette I've used in the past was a great tool to start on and I'm thankful to have had about 40 shaves under my belt with it . The butterknife razor taught me alot about being gentle on setdown.
Without guys like Bill in here , alot of us would be missing out on the finer things in life as these fellas generously pif or loan soaps , razors , blades , brushes or whatever to new shavers starting out, or others wanting to try another method of this wonderful world of shaving.
Thanks Bill , for opening my eyes to another new way of an age old tradition.
