M. Jung, circa 1911-1923, Reg 80, 200k diamond edge, SAS result.....

 

13/16+ Hisyakaku 500 1/4 hollow, one of the finest ground and finished razors that I’ve ever seen. Even the nose is finished beautifully. The blade has the usual light finishing marks that keep the metal from being mirror finished, but it also looks like an uchigumori finish (sword finish) on top of that, a kasumi finish. It’s a difficult razor to hone from the ground up (only done it once of course) because the bevels are so narrow they’re difficult to see. Soap was ABC hard soap lathered with a 2-band Duke 3 copy in black emerald by life2short1971, and a dab of the wonderful ABC almond balm finished up a BDBS shave.

 

5/8 Russian Straight made in 1975

Has a very close and fairly comfortable shave with this straight.

 

Tonight's shave was with a newly restored and honed razor. I had a great 2 pass shave, that left me BBS. Zero issues, just a fantastic shave

A big 7/8 hollow ground Dorko for today. She is a big one but she doesn't flex at all and my favorite... shoulder less.

Shave #39 on the Filly 14 Sub Cero edge longevity test, but it was an early start and I didn’t have normal stubble. It shaved really well, but rhe next dozen shaves should be interesting. Soap was La Toja, a couple of sticks grated into a bowl (try it, you’ll like it) lathered with a 2-band 3/1 copy, and a dab of the lightly aqualtic AdP Collezione Barbiere balm finished up. Still rollin’ along!

 

Of course I am posting the same SR's over and over, but today I used the Our Wedge made by Salamander,
