    Thanks, Patrick! I am looking forward to my 30 shave no variance challenge. It is an important step in my straight razor shave journey for a number of reasons. First, I had recently honed my Wosty with lapping films and want to see how long the edge lasts without Croxing. Second, I just want to really test my stropping chops. Third, I thought it would be nice to do a focus before my first anniversary with 30 DC arrives.

    Great shave with a "traditional style" AC razor. Looks like the Feather SS - correct? The DX doesn't have the lip on it that supposedly makes it safer. I prefer the DX to the SS, but you know me and dangerous things. I've never used a folding version but they do make a straight razor shave quick and easy by skipping the strop. Very nice shave. AND - you're still well within the Dark Side. A straight is a straight, including shavettes. @Keithmax mentioned that they are definitely in a dark corner of the dark side and that's a good description. I haven't used traditional straights as much as the pain sticks but I know which one will do the most damage if I lose concentration - and it isn't the traditional straight!

    Definitely still dark side. I guess I'll take the credit for "pain stick". I know Charlie @wristwatchb created the graphic for the "Order of the Pain Stick" but I never could find the first reference to the term itself. Everybody keeps telling me that I did that so, I'll stop arguing and accept the credit. For whatever that's worth.
