SOS: October 2019

OCtober 23rd SOTN

As OCtober is drawing closer to the end, I pulled out my PAA DOC Evolution razor for pass one as I had 2+ days of growth. It was a comfortable pass with only one small weeper under the nose. Two more passes with the Oneblade Genesis / Feather for smooth sailing before bed. The Sandalwood Smoke was smokey but soothing. Hopefully everyone has a great shave today.

Got up late this morning so reached for the stick-cart-synth to get me out the door quickly.
The Boots gear is great and with the Yaqi, i had a stupid amount of lather in no time. The G. Contour is great for a splash & dash shave so, in all, this was a setup with super synergy and i really enjoyed its brief appearance this morning. The shave stick holder is really well designed and a credit to Boots. Its the best i have used. The AS is really pleasant and doesn't give you that punch in the kisser that some leaner AS's can give. Whilst i have enjoyed the last (3) shaves on the G.Contour blade, it is beginning to pull and the closeness is dropping off. I will get another shave out of it, making it 4 altogether for this blade but at $15 for 10 in my local chemists, this is an expensive shave. I think multi-blade carts really need to be sharp to work well and performance does fall away quickly as the blade dulls. On the 1st use of it, i was thrilled and really enjoyed it, after all, it is a fantastic razor and shaving system. However, as the shaves have progressed i am reminded why i switched to DE. Anyway, a great shave still and i am booted and suited for the day!

A beautiful foggy and rainy day and to suit my mood i used a soap that reminds me of the black and white movies of the '50.

The films with Peter van Eyck and Dawn Addams, Jean Gabin with the fogs and rains of the Brest port, spys exchanges in Berlin, at the Check Point 'Charlie'...

This soap recalls that all!
Did not even use AS nor EdT to keep its scent on my skin...

And, opened the window, my shave sound track was the rain with Glenn Miller orchestra in the background.
