There is one route called 'special talent' that is faster but the standards are high. Only 236 citizenships have been granted under this program. I made it through the first step, getting approved by a committee and then it was on to the second step, an interview that is an oral test.

The interview covers, Korean language, history, social, cultural and the legal system. The first interview I failed, it was much harder than I expected. In Korea the department of justice is responsible for granting citizenship and the woman assisting me through the process called me and apologized for the interview and was shocked because we have spoken many times in Korean. They scheduled a second interview just 10 later.

For ten days I studied like crazy and was a bit nervous. The first interview was conducted by nongovernment employees but the second interview was held with two high level employees fo the justice department. The test was difficult but this time I was better prepared. The next day I got a text message telling me I passed. What a relief.

Now all that is left is for the criminal background check and paperwork to be processed. Once I have the passport in hand I will go to the US embassy and give up my US citizenship. A sad thought but I can't go on living like this. I am over the biggest obstacles now and it should be down hill from here. This why I have not been as active on the 30DC.

O.K. Danny needs to rant. I cannot stand a theft or a liar! I went by mom and dad's graves this afternoon and discovered that their sprays had been stolen. These were beautiful and was done by our neighbor out of artificial flowers. I just cannot understand how someone could be so low as to steal flowers off of graves. Low of the lowest!

I skipped last night's shave due to just being tired. Yeah, even the Czar wears out. Yesterday was nothing but a cold rain and I worked nearly 10 hours in it so home was just a chance to crash and burn. So, after the sun came back out today and it warmed into the 70's I knew I'd feel up to catching up. Two days growth on the beard and a couple weeks on the head so time to deal with that too. I chose the Fatip Piccolo for this round with a fresh Sharp Star. Stirling Sheep for the lather made by the Stirling synthetic brush. Fantastic is the only word that comes to mind. That shave followed a pain stick head shave featuring the Kai Captain with the VDH Scented Luxury Soap and Boar Brush. No blood or any other problems with either shave and the day ended on nothing but positive! Great way to wind up a Sunday.

Up early for my monthly visit with the pain doc tomorrow, then a couple of meetings throughout the day and Monday will be in the books as well. Hope your week gets off to a fantastic start!!

It was quite hard to get a close shave as the razor was so mild, the blade didn't feel that sharp either, so i had to use a bit of pressure. I even got a small nick because of that. But i decided to keep going, quite a bit of buffing later i ended up with a decently close shave. I can get closer with a DE though. I didn't get any irritation, which was probably the best thing about the shave. Binned the razor right after i was done.

3 Pass DFS. Travel shave this morning. New setup going forward for awhile with weekend work shaves. Proraso predictability and one of my favorite sandalwood stanks. The Single Edge is a great travel setup, solidly built, stows easy without worry about it getting it damaged. Little thought to its angle and pressure now, just mows it down. Clean shaven and ready for the day.

The SV Felce Aromatica smells fabulous. The scent is simply intoxicating. I changed up the my pass routine and went with a 2 pass shave, ATG followed by XTG. I managed to catch the baby after touch ups and buffing my neck. A splash of the matching aftershave keeps the scent going. My wife and I are off to visit my Mom and take her to lunch. Been doing some relaxing wandering round, nice for a change. Normally on a time schedule, yesterday, not so much.
Changed some gears this morning so to speak, tried out a Rubberset brush for no other reason than it's an easy day, so far. Used it with some Stirling on the face, stiffer than I'm used to, doesn't cover the skin as well as other brushes I use either. I found a 53 Super Speed at a antique store I haven't been to for a while for 5 bucks, case and all. Used a Feather for the first pass, was OK, loaded another Feather and did the second pass. Not as close as I like but an OK shave.
The gord was needing a good mowing so...
I tried to lather up but the Rubberset set is not up to the task, just to much real estate. Oh, I'm sure it will eventually work, but I'm not spending the day here. Pulled out my newly knoted brush to take over from there. Got a good lather in moments and took to the task of cutting down a days growth of stubble. Well.....
The 53 SS is just to calm and laid back for this job. Don't get me wrong, the super speed is OK, nothing wrong with it, I just don't want to do 4 passes to get where I like to be. I don't chase the baby, but I like a clean shave. Did one pass and well, what to do??? what do do???
I went to the razor stash, hummmmm.
A Monobit, that's the way! A new Feather blade and my Monobit, back to the sink.
The second and last pass on the gord with the Cooper Monobit and THAT's where I should be.

So 2 brushes, 2 razors and 3 blades later, I'm finished. I now have plenty of super speed razors, that I really don't use, all of which work perfectly fine.

I'm behind in the thread, I will try to catch up, but today if all works out, I'm gonna get caught up around the house.

It's amazing what some stropping will do to remedy a sharp, but harsh edge.
25 laps on the plain linen and 40 laps on the SRP 3" and 10 on the Savin.
Aaaahhhh.....much better.
Thought I was going to have to cold water shave this morning, because Dr. Mrs. Primo
decided to jump in the shower right before I was about to fill up the sink with hot water.
Instead, I loaded the Chubby for about 8 minutes until she finished.
Did get a healthy load on with the synthetic and the MWF is really starting to hit the end stage.
Too much ceramic clanking with the Chubby, so until this soap is gone, I will go with my
taller brushes.
Seriously, while the shave may not have been buttery, it was 100% more comfortable than yesterday.
3 passes and the usual results.

As previously mentioned, I bought this brush at Sally's Beauty Supply because it was $7.49 and it looked like a real badger brush. I didn't bloom the Bay Rum soap and just wet the brush. I was able to easily pick up the soap out of the tub. I only had to add a little more water while face-lathering and came away a very nice lather. Did 2.5 pass for an IBSS++ without any cuts, nicks, weeps or irritation. Finished with the matching aftershave and then the Nivea ASB. Now, if I get called to sub tomorrow, then I don't have to shave in the morning because I will look presentable well beyond the school day. Enjoy the football games, fellas!

Giving it a run with a Chick Blade proved to be sufficient to subplant the Schick I1 for the management position in the Max Headroom Injector department. I will have to see what the Supply (Personna?) blade is like in the I1 though.

Good menthol Monday morning to all!
Choose a MMOC today to do the job. Having 8 of these razors they pretty much shave the same, except this one. If I were in need of shaving a grizzly bear hide, I'd grab this one. Not sure what's different with it, but every time I use it, wow. I got 2 weepers on the neck before I realized what one I got hold of. A one pass shave with it is almost good enough, 2 passes and I am ready baby. The 2 pass head shave was as close as ever, smooth like glass.

Tired out the brush I installed a new knot in, it looks and lathers great, but of course I'm very biased.
Been lazy last day or two, fixin things around the house, getting clothes ready for the cold weather, just kicked back some.
Well it's the start of the week and thats all over with now!
