  10. thank you Danny..i remember when you first got your karve set up..quite a while back..may get the rest of the razor at at some point..
  11. They are hard to beat. I was reluctant to buy a Karve at first but then I ran across this one used and have since added several plates to it. The Karve is one of my best additions to the den.
  12. glad you like it.i have seen some really cool modern razors lately ..one day..;)..

  13. Those are some fine looking mugs.
How's the soap treating you Paul? I've got the mug, soap, and matching brush headed my way. When did you start Enabling?
  14. Well, in the final days to grab a Supply Injector at the old price, I find mine still slugging it out with the gran-pappy I1.

This time each had a new Personna.

The I1 was crummy. I could shave with it, but why. It is so pleasant with a Chick. I'd get rid of it if it didn't get better than this.

I lightly corked the blade in the Supply on the shown felt block. I can't tell any difference one way or the other. No question, the Supply is easier to shave with. A little more blade feel than the I1 and easier to get on angle due to the bulbous cap. If you skin stretch well, ride the cap and roll the razor just till you get blade contact it's okay. Buffing action improves things.

Still, half a face was enough for me. I picked up the Focus R28 Slim AL for the rest. Funny, the Schick I1 injector was the secondary tool most often used when I was learning edge forward shaving devices. I just never-ever thought I would be grabbing a shavette to back up my shave testing.

Both these blades are heading for the bin. I can see why Supply is coming out with a new one. Did I say that the Supply folks will be on Shark Tank this Sunday night? What a great opportunity for the wet shaving community.

I can't wait any longer, I'll be loading up a Schick Proline in the Supply for tomorrow. I can't say how wonderful it is for Andrew @Linuxguile to be the best source for these in the US. Based on those who have gone before me, I gave high expectations.

Great shave with the Blood on Steel, maybe Tsuka (the real name) will make a showing on the Stirling Black Friday sale.

  15. OCtober 29

    Razor: Gillette Goodwill
    Blade: Polsilver (3)
    Brush: Omega S-Brush
    Soap: MLS Reunion
    AS: Stetson

Very full day today. Never had a second to post my shave of the day. I really like the Goodwill razor.

Update from my wife: Clubman is out but Stetson is okay.

  20. It's the "educator" in me, Rick. I have tossed soaps in the past, or relegated them to the shower. They're so cheap, it's not worth it if they don't perform. I even tossed :scared003: a vintage puck of AOS sandalwood back when I first started wet shaving. To my nose, it smelled exactly like Ben Nye Greasepaint makeup. I have since come to my senses.;)
