Thank you, Joseph! I tried to get my face quite wet, and started with a dry stick, going against the grain too. I'd imagine the results were something similar, but i'll try your way tomorrow!
The brush is a lather hog though, i got a lot more lather with my synthetic. Never tried badger, horse or a mixed knot, i wonder how they would perform.. I feel like my wallet is giving me the finger, even though i haven't ordered anything. Yet.

Interesting. Maybe different water types add to that or prevent it?

Is that a Boar brush in your photo? (Colored to look like a badger?) Some boars simply do not hold as much lather as badgers or synthetics. A Zenith 26mm boar really holds a lot as does an Omega Pro. Took me a long time to learn to load enough soap with a boar. Combine that with a shave stick, it can be tricky.

Yup, it's a Razor Master boar, made by Semogue. Not even fully broken in, which makes it worse. I did get a good, slick lather, but not enough of it. I will use my RR Big Bruce synthetic next month, it will make everything a lot easier. I've struggled in the past with my boar brushes, especially with this one.

    Good evening, guys!
    Shavette shave #115
    Dovo Shavette
    Polsilver 1/2 DE (9)
    Semogue OC Super Badger
    Stirling Piacenza AS and SS
    Nivea ASB not pictured.
I am on my ninth shave with this blade. Although it was getting more difficult to shave with it, everything came together with this 2.5 pass shave without any mishaps. I ended this month with a nice, comfortable IBSS+. I replaced the blade to ready it for my next shavette shave in December. Finished this shave with the matching aftershave and the Nivea ASB. Now, I have to lay this shavette down and get ready for my 30 consecutive straight razor challenge using the same razor starting this Saturday. Have a great evening guys! 20191031_070444.jpg 20191031_070444.jpg
