Quick up date on my wife's situation. She has been talking to her youngest half sister in Pennsylvania for the last couple of weeks. They seem to have hit it off. She is planning to talk with her dad this weekend for the first time. Things seem be working out nice and the family has welcomed my wife and us into their family from the start. We are planning a trip back to Pennsylvania at the end of this month for a week. We are actually going to be spending Thanksgiving with part of our family that we did not know existed till about two weeks ago. Life is never a dull moment but we are blessed.

After yesterday's shave results from this 'new to me' Drew Dick razor, along w/Joe's commitment to shave with only one straight for 30 shaves.....I'm going to do somewhat similar. One razor for November (save for 4 travel shaves). Software will be 'no repeats', and brushes will be whatever chosen to create a lather. The 4 weekend travel shaves will be the Occam's razor O.R.E.N. I'm hoping to get to 2 pass DFS+ shaves with this straight, and then work to replicate that with my others. After yesterday's shave, at least for this razor, I think it may work out. It's already quite the edge, I'll maintain it with pasted strops, followed with the CrOx linen/bridle leather strop.

    Cella PS/SC/ASB/AS
Heritage Collection CMON 77-4 w/Zenith Boar
Drew Dick 7/8 Damascus Steel - Green Kirinite

2.5 pass DFS. Mid afternoon shave today. Had a very busy morning. A good shave result, but not nearly as great as yesterday's. I contribute this to the Cella unfortunately. Noticeably less slick, slightly thin lather even with a great amount of crazy 'beat it like it owes you' with the HC w/Zenith Boar. Even had to go back for loading for the last 1/2 neck pass. The Cella shave cream 'face feel' in between passes is comparatively dry to yesterday's Proraso Single Blade products. Love the feel of this Drew Dick Damascus Steel razor as it does the work though. Smooth glide across the skin, no skipping or tugging (even with the lather as it was), the half hollow blade barely making a slight grind/metallic sandpaper noise for the first pass. No nicks, cuts or issues to report.

Photo details: iPhone Xs, available light, flashlight fill for highlights, saturation bump/border FIPs'd (fixed in photoshop).

Hope it's been a great day for everyone, and that your weekend is great!

Thanks Daniel! It sounds like you have an interesting weekend planned. :shocked003: I'm currently sampling some local juice this evening, and my Bride is enjoying this.
Thanks Jim. Enjoy your cookies. ;) We're all eagerly waiting to see how many mustache combs and trimmers you purchase this month. :happy102:
Thank, guys, for the kind words. Sorry to bore you all with the same kit over and over, but it has performed really well for me.
Thanks Evan. I've been on a mission the past couple of years to plow through my soaps and creams on my journey to my Top 5 (or so). I should be there sometime next year. They are:

US: Mike's Natural Soap (although I will be evaluating Stirling to see if they bump Mike's off the list)
France: MdC (because I have two full containers...probably a lifetime supply)
Germany: Tabac (puck and shave stick for travel)
Spain: Jabonman/Eufros (great scents and performance)
UK: Taylor of Old Bond Street (only cream on the list...great performer and best bang for the buck of all the English creams)

That provides me with plenty of variety, overall solid performers, and combination of classic vs. artisan.

    Thanks Joe!
The boy isn't growing up like I did, mom and dad married 60 some odd years. He and I have got a real bond that transcends grandfather and grandson. I'm the father figure, everyone says so, no hiding that. But I really worry about him, if for some reason I'm not around. My health isn't that great, he's real young, that's the only real fear or concern I have in life.
    But I keep chugging along.
He'll be over later tonight and probably stay all weekend. His Mom wanted to know how his day went, so he sludged home. She tries so hard, but moms aren't dads, and a boy needs a dad.
Never figured I'd be "here" but we do OK.
    Thanks again!

I'd like to do a Top 5 sometime....but I need to have a larger variety to make the choosing fun. Mine won't be by country-it'll be Soaps&aftershaves.
