Razor - 1959 (E3) Gillette Flare Tip Super Speed
    Blade - supermax-super-platinum.jpg
    Soap - Stirling Ozark Mountain
    Brush - Semogue 620
    Post - Alum

Time to rotate gear again and move on to the 1959 Gillette Flare Tip Super Speed. I noticed @MrDaniel's has perhaps acquired one earlier and decided it would be a great choice for tonight. The SS is a great little razor and a true Gillette classic. It's mild but gets the job done and would surely be one of the most popular of their razors. Since I also have a 1947 model and a red tip you'll get to see me use a couple more of them. For tonight's blade I decided to go back to the Super-Max cache and picked the Super Platinum. This is probably my favorite Super-Max blade and is on par with the Rapira Platinum Lux. On par, but not quite as sharp in my book anyway.

For the lather it's the Semogue 620 and Ozark Mountain from Stirling. Still one of my favorite scents and this is a great little boar brush. I didn't load it right tonight, however, as the lather went scarce on the second lather. Guess I needed to give it some more time on the puck but that's ok. Two passes and a little touch up got me to a near-BBS which was just fine after a long Monday. Extremely smooth shave with no issues and I'm a happy camper. Have a great Tuesday!

Thanks for the kind words gentlemen!

Jason, I'm betting you've seen that MdC is what many fougère's are compared to, tons of reviews out there, both over the top and the opposite. Would I buy it again, probably not, but I'll use this (forever) until it's gone most likely. The Ginger's Garden AS (I have the soap, just didn't use it today) was in a lot purchase. Open AS container aroma is more 'fern' than fougère, but the dry down is very nice, better than I thought it'd be. Still earthy 'minty/cilantro'ish' (like the herbs you can buy fresh) mixed with fougère to my nose. Lasts into the afternoon for my skin chemistry.

Also, thanks everyone for all the comments relating to my daughter's accomplishments with her horn/music. She does work & practice a good bit at it! @jtspartan Great story about your wife and band directing. Thanks for sharing. And... @PLAla While I was in MS & HS, of course few kids realize the time band directors put in, I was no different. But now...after watching my two kiddos go through MS and HS band (w/still more to go), it's obvious the Band Directors (and any of the fine arts really), put in some serious hours. I can pretty much guarantee that if I drive by the HS from 6:30am to 6:30pm Mon-Thur, the directors are there. And then there's the repeat for Friday's for games, for an even longer day. Can't forget marching season's Saturday competitions less than 7-8 hours after getting back from a game. It's dedication to the profession!

@Edison Carter - That's a pretty special thing, 40 years. Congratulations. Such a neat idea & gesture that your wife does with modeling the wedding dress every year, and then again this anniversary. That is even more precious and romantic!

Caught up on the thread...hit and miss reading as time allowed today here and there....if I missed commenting on your specific shave and post, apologies. Scatter brain reading. About my time for a pillow!

Atmotic is different that the Atomic Age Bay Rum. It is a woody scent with a bit of patchouli thrown in and quite a bit different. Atmotic is also a type.of airship.
