Beautiful photo, Jason! I really like the Personna blades. They've always worked for me. I'm in the minority in that Proline blades aren't my favorite. Anyway, great shave. Soap Commander is excellent soap.
Nov 5th No Repeat Razor: Gillette Tech with bakelite handle Blade: Feather Hi-Stainless Brush: Omega S-Brush Soap: MLS Colonia Di Agrumi AS: Proraso Sandlewood This razor was purchased as a lot of razors from a local antique shop. I doubt I would have purchased it on its own. Shaves as well as any light handle Gillette Tech. I may turn a handle for it out of stainless steel, or maybe I will turn one out of drill rod and nickel plate it. Some day... I promise I will share pictures when I do. Very smooth shave again this morning. I am getting better at this. Work has entered the end of year change freeze in prep for holiday shopping. Every year we hope to relax as we are not suppose to make production changes. It never works out that way.
Got a lot of catching up to do. Left my phone at work so no catching up last night. Awesome Alabama shave this morning with the Above the Tie and Soap Commander. Tried a Derby blade which I have not used in a while. O.K. blade but I like the Astra SPs better. Y'all have a great day!
The success that some have with these blades makes me wonder if there are variations in what is available. For instance, are those that came with my Supply razor the same as Personna hair shaper blades that one would get from Sally Beauty Supply. Some time, I may have to test it a little. If I can I'll report.
Nov 5th Ogallala SS - Bay Rum Semogue Boar OC Cherry wood Drew Dick 7/8 Damascus Steel - Green Kirinite Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements ASB - Mysterium Serum Ogallala Bay Rum Cologne Today felt like a Bay Rum day. First bay rum I purchased is an oldie but goodie....Ogallala (just love saying that!). The Semogue boar makes an awesome lather machine with the Ogallala, bursting into slick and fragrant goodness within a few seconds. Loaded the brush way too much, lather overflowing the shave bowl within a minute. 5 shaves now in the past 6 days with this beauty, and I'm starting to reel in the nuances of mowing down the growth very efficiently. 2.5 passes to BBS. The last half pass was neck only, very light buffing, XTG, almost ATG (that sharp angle where you almost feel irritation from the blade's edge, but not). Right neck under the chin very awkward with this big blade's weight and tang shape, but no roughness is found. Managed the entire shave with no weepers or issues. Followed with PAA's Mysterium Serum, a very nice hydrating, but not to oily/pasty, scentless ASB. Ogallala Bay Rum cologne finished my morning routine, smooth and ready for a Tuesday! Hope everyone has a fantastic day!
