    Thanks Jim!
    Thank you Gary!
    Fantastic pair of shaves, Patrick!
Excellent shave, Evan! I used the Lady Gillette i bought for my wife (who hasn't tried it yet) during EDRIO. It was a decent shaver.
    Beautiful blade, Keith!
    Awesome shave terry!
Great shave Jim! Sorry to hear about the cut. How does Vanille de Tabac compare to Stirling Haverford? I think they are both based on the same cologne.
Excellent shave Daniel! I suspect that you still may be using a bit too much pressure (because of the weepers). Try to wipe the lather away without the blade touching your skin. I bet you will find that you need much less pressure then you've been using.
Beautiful photo Clint! Sorry to hear the soap isn't quite up to your standards.
    Beautiful razor, Jeff! Great shave!
    Awesome shave Jim!
    Tabactastic Tom!
    Awesome shave Joe!
    Great shave Gary!
    Awesome shave Joseph!
Very nice Jason! I don't dislike the Personna blades, but I do prefer the Schick blades.
    Another great shave, Evan!
    Excellent shave, Danny!
I have compared the Personna mini hair shaper blades to the unbranded Accutec blades (like the old Supply blades) and couldn't tell any difference.

If it's alcohol sting you want - add a little. Perfumers alcohol is expensive and not much different from Everclear. Even vodka works. If you are concerned about watering down the juice, leave the cap off for a day to let some evaporation happen, or use more when you apply it?

I've found I prefer an alcohol based post shave product. I like them over witch hazel juice, or most any creamy balm.

I find Vanille de Tabac and Haverford to be very similar. The VdT has a bit more going on in the background. If you didn't care for Haverford I doubt you'd like VdT.

I didn't like how sweet Haverford was. Your right I probably wouldn't like VdT , but was just curious how close they were.

Thank you Andrew. @Trigger Joe indicated I am not the only one with the observation. I might have to move it to a bath soap.

Have you been able see differences in any of the AccuTec offerings?

The only blade that I really like from Accutec is the Gem SS PTFE. I do have a bunch of the new production Personna DE blades on order, so we'll see how they do.

    Saturday NOvember 2

First shave of the month. Doing a NO repeat NOvember for razors but not for brushes or software as I don't have enough. I can do about 20 no repeat days for brushes, and about 10 no repeat days for soap so I will do my best but will have to start repeating some.

First up is my favorite razor; an Iwasaki Tamahagane.

    Bowl/Scuttle - GP12
    Soap - Le Pere Lucien
    Brush - Paladin Vesuvius
    Blade - N/A
    Razor - Iwasaki Tamahagane
Post Shave - OSMA Pierre alum, Floid SE

    Shave rating 5 of 5

I haven't shaved with a straight for a while, since spring, but shaving with a straight is like riding a bicycle, right?? The steel on this razor is just awesome and produces an extremely sharp and smooth edge. The razor is very unassuming looking but definitely not one to overlook. Did a 2 pass shave; first pass WTG was DFS+. Decided to do a 2nd pass XTG and but was very careful, especially around my mouth and my neck area which usually give me problems when I shave with straights. Finished 2nd pass DFS+ primarily because I didn't try to get closer on my neck area as I probably would have drawn blood. The Le Pere Lucien lather was top-notch as usual. While I love using my open comb razors, I'm glad to be able to use some of my other razors this month.

Happy NOvember and great shaves everyone.
