That is one of the Russian Gillettes that I haven't actually tried, Terry.
    Pick pocket issues?
Sorry about the fillet job, Jim. A lovely pic again, regardless.
    The Fortitude sounds nice, Perry.
    Another great pic, Daniel.
There are too many good soaps, Clint!
How is the Tobacco Bay, Jeff? Have tried Jeeves Tobacco Bay for a comparison?
Great pic, Jim. Without looking it up, why is the name Controversy?
Monobilt Monday doesn't have that bad a right to it...
You could always put some weight in the handle as well, Evan.
I prefer Astras to Derbys as well, Danny, and it isn't particularly close.
    I await your report, Bill.
Wow, that razor looks even better today, Blair! You must be a pro or something...
Nice pic, Ken. I'm the opposite- I can do a No Repeat for software, but not for razors or brushes. Close on razors, not that close on brushes.
Congrats, Danny! Why do they even bother with a 36Month shelf life logo on a triple milled puck...pointless.

Thank you, Jason! Fortitude is a sweet scent as you could expect with the hay and rum notes.

This scent was inspired by Guns 'N Roses, and was originally called something else. But when he re-introduced it, he changed the name to Controversy thinking it kept in spirit with the band it was named after.

Thanks Gentlemen. Bill...that is a beautiful wedding photo. You and your wife look so good together.
Rick...im not sure if they made an AS but my guess is no. They were more into shave creams back then from what i read.

    Tuesday NOvember 5

Today I shaved with a Barbasol Floating Head - at least I think it's a Floating Head. Razor is in excellent condition and it gave me a great shave so I'm happy.

    Bowl/Scuttle - GP12
Soap - La Savonniere du Moulin
Brush - Simpson Chubby 3 Manchurian
    Blade - Gillette Platinum (1)
    Razor - Barbasol Floating Head
Post Shave - OSMA Pierre alum, RR Blue

    Shave rating 5 of 5

My first shave with this razor and I was very pleased. Efficient and mildly aggressive with a little blade feel. I don't think the blade feel would have existed if I didn't have 3 days growth. Did a 2 pass shave; first pass WTG was DFS. Very easy to use and maneuver. Second pass XTG and the razor and blade worked well together - BBS after second pass. The La Savonniere du Moulin provided excellent lather.

Happy NOvember and great shaves everyone.

Even though they're pricey ($25 per bottle) Soap Commander splashes are high quality. Both yesterday and today I caught strong whiffs of the scent well into the day. Caught one of Fortitude just now and that lead me to write this post. Good skin-care goodies in there in addition to the scent longevity. @jluc and @Hembree - do you guys have the same experience with the splashes?
