Love that Cooper! They seem to be scarcer than Hen’s teeth lately.

Just bought an R41 on another board. What blade do you prefer in it?

    Enjoy your shaves,

This razor is more about the angle, not about the blade.

I have the same Gem? Really great razor. I use Pella PTFE SS GEM blades in it. Where do you source your blades?

    Enjoy your shaves,

As a newbie with the razor, Primo, what angle would you recommend?

I usually use Astra SP's or whatever I have laying around. The only blade I actively avoid in the Blackbird are Feathers.
I see about 1 or 2 pop up on etsy or ebay every couple months.

It is very smooth and just the right level of aggression and blade feel for daily comfort. I like the feel in the hand and its style as well. I believe it is just a great quality product. There are many great razors but I think the RS18 delivers on all aspects including luxury.

Feather... but I don’t suggest this combo will bite, Last few uses was with personna blue super comfortable But have used the usual suspects ... Astra, voskhod, rapira platinum

I really don’t find it overly aggressive, if you give it respect. But I’ve learned a lot about angle and pressure from SR shaving, that transfers to DE. My R41 is paired with Weber handle so balance is different from stock.. My simple answer is lowest angle to cut hair, least amount of pressure to cut hair. As you become more familiar with razor and blade slowly and carefully increase angle .......

I like Voskhod blades in my R41. Start with smooth blades and work your way up. The R41 can be unforgiving so approach with caution.
