NOVember 2019 November 5 Razor - 1947 Gillette Super Speed Blade - Soap - Tabac Brush - Jayaruh #46 Post - Alum My, my what a day. Was it Monday?? No? Tuesday?? Really??? Felt like Monday, several times over. Definitely time to shave and relax. I moved from the flare tip Super Speed over to the 1947 that I had replated after purchasing it. Definitely a beautiful razor and just a bit different from the later Flare Tip models. The '47 is a bit more aggressive but still a Super Speed. I paired it with an Asco Super Stainless blade. These are made by Lord in Egypt. Lord, of course, was a British company back in the day and actually remain so. They just relocated to Egypt when the Empire expanded. Some Lord blades are quite good, some not so much. Asco is one of the surprising blades because it works well in spite of being a mid-tier blade, in my opinion. It sings like a carbon but has a very smooth feel, though not as smooth as some. I chose Tabac to get at least one Tabac Tuesday in this month along with the JR46. Fantastic lather and a fantastic three pass shave to wind down the day. I'm now very relaxed, the baby is in the house and all is right with the world again. Have a great day out there tomorrow!

You are very observant, my friend; and I wish that it were, but it is a very-close-not-so-cheap reproduction made from Titanium (or more specifically A3 coated with Titanium). I do like the look, weight and length....but I do hope to try an actual Tradere razor (head and handle) one day.

Williams Wednesday's Shave Cold Water Rinse Williams Mug Shave Soap Jayaruh #292 Ever-Ready Lather Catcher CVS CS SE CWR Granddad's Blend AS My prep was just a cold water rinse. The Williams Mug Shave Soap face lathered well with the Jayaruh #292 Badger Brush. I did two passes and a cleanup with the Ever-Ready Lather Catcher razor with a CVS CS SE blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Granddad's Blend AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
