very cool..there are no british adverts that call brit flare tips "rockets" when they were actually for sale though.i call them flare tip rockets as does most everyone else.some think its a term invented by serious collectors..

Thanks, Gary! I always learn more about this hobby and Gillettes in our chats! By the way, you might want to introduce yourself to Peter (NorthstoneHill) at B&B. He’s a serious British Gillette collector like you, and a really nice guy! Feel free to mention me. You can remind him that I’m the guy who bought his Eclipse Red Ring. I’ll mention you to him. Give it a day or so.

    Enjoy your shaves,

    Jeff

Yeah. I'll have to wear it in her company and ask what she thinks. If i'm chosen.

    Thanks, Gary!

Thank you, Blair! I'm giving my face a short break, my skin gets quite dry during winter. Even though i'm using moisturiser.

    Good Saturday morning all!
Was working through the posts last night, woke up and decided to hit the sack.
This morning's shave was calm and easy....
Well, not really, while the grand kids were running around while I shaved, I still got clean and smooth non issues shave.
Using two Shark blades this morning was the trick to a comfortable shave with these blades. One blade for the mug, two passes with a clean-up witch hazel pass. One blade for gord, two passes with a clean-up witch hazel pass. Still not as comfortable as a Feather blade, but entirely usable.

So everyone is up and ready, gonna drop one grandkid off, take one to the jim to do some hoops.
Will get other things done later today.
Now I'm gonna enjoy some easy time!
Hope everyone has a great day!
    Enjoy!

I would say my shave today was "kind of excellent". I've been very happy with the TSE(The Soap Exchange)soap. After the long warm/hot season, it welcomed me back with a smile! It has Kaeolin Clay in it, among its other ingredients. Unlike the CTS soap, with its chunks of Bentonite Clay, the Kaoelin in the TSE appears to be scattered around the puck. Good loading for two solid passes. The problem was the aftershave(AgadirMen)-and only because I forgot how easy it comes out. It isn't as bad as Aqua Velva or the tiny Avon, but you really need to be careful. I certainly will be next time(which happens to be tomorrow). But it smells great.

Excellent shave this morning. R-41 for the face and Vector for the noggin scrape. Two pass BBS for the face and one pass DFS for the dome. First run with the R-41 which delivered an unbelievably close face shave! I now understand the hype about this razor!

    SOTD 11/09/19

RAZORS: R-41 w/ RR Bulldog handle(face) and Blackland Vector (head)
    BLADE: Voskhod
PRESHAVE: Coldwater rinse followed by PAA’s Charcoal-Menthol Preshave Cube soap
    BRUSH: Omega Pro 48
    SOAP: Mitchell’s Wool Fat
POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash of face and head w/ MWF followed by Aqua Velva on both

Jim, well, I suppose OVERALL it was excellent, but I wasn't prepared for the Niagra Falls from the Agadir.

    Good morning!

Terrific shave to start the day! Three passes for near BBS. Nearly silent alum.

It really felt like I was struggling to find the angle that would allow the razor to find the angle. I must've done alright because I am smoooooth!

    Have a great weekend! [IMG]

    Good morning, guys!
    Straight razor shave #116
Same straight razor and lineup Rule (6)
Wostenholm 5/8 Sq pt full hollow
    Stirling Boar Brush
    Stirling Sandalwood SS and AS
    Nivea ASB not pictured
The Stirling combination of brush and soap gave me such a nice, slick, glistening lather. The kind of lather you see on shaving videos. Lol! Anyway, the razor wemt through my 36 hr stubble with ease. I have to say to this stubble was lighter than usual. It may be that my previous shave was with a 28 hr stubble that ended with a very close shave. Anyway, I only needed 2 passes and a minor touchup to get an IBSS ++. Chasing the baby wasn't necessary because my face appears like I have one. Now, that I am using the Sandalwood more frequently, the scent seems much more stronger than usual. Finished with the Sandalwood aftershave and followed with the Nivea aftershave balm. This was a wonderful smooth shave with my skin looking great! Have a great Saturday, guys! Oh, no pic because it is the same as my previous 5 shaves.
