That may qualify for some sort of Jedi-esq title right there.

We're still dealing with the local butchers.
I think my wife is afraid of what she'll ultimately find out. The big city docs are more experienced. I'm prodding her that way.

Good luck to both of you!

    Oh my my.....
I think I'd mail some blades to myself and pick them up at check in.

I got behind a bit, so great shaves, gentlemen! It was a no shave day for me as I went to my old house to do a little work. I hope everyone had a great day!

Thanks Terry. I hope your Bride is doing well, my friend.

Four shaves per cart is about my average, and the shaves are actually pretty good. I'll be going for quick and passable shaves, anyway.

    Razor - 1962 (H1) Gillette Slim (9)
    Blade - rise-platinum.jpg
Soap - Stirling 2018 Fair Debonaire St. Louis LE
    Brush - 30DC LE
    Post - Alum

A fine day in the Lou if you like things about 58 degrees and sunny. Made it an easy day to work outside and left me in a good mood as the nightly shave approached. Moving on with the No-Repeat to grab the 1962 Gillette Slim adjustable, set on 9 naturally. I reached into my desk drawer and found the Rise Platinum blade. Another Indian blade originally made by Vidyut Metallics. I was trying to remember how these blades performed in the blade trials but couldn't place them. Realized after the shave when I tried to find the saved image for the report that I never saved the images of any Rise blades, meaning that I never trialed them. I thought I got everything that was out there! This blade has been in my stash for a few years I'm sure. Well, that's ok. Something new to add to the list. I went for the Stirling LE I picked up in 2018 here in the Lou and which eventually became Haverford. Great soap and the 30DC LE brush had no issus turning it into a fantastic lather.

Three full passes and my impression of the Rise Platinum is favorable. It's along the same line as most blades from Vidyut. Mid-range sharpness and it's smooth enough. I'm thinking a newbie might find it a bit rough or hard to figure out but it's not one I'd avoid, especially with the technique to make it work well. I won't be doing a full trial on it this month as I'm moving on day to day, but I will probably revisit this blade and its brethren in the future to make them official.

Three passes and the baby showed up, everything is still in one piece including my face and all is right with the world. Have a fantastic Sunday!

I think it was Jason @jtspartan that asked about the background in my photos. Yes, I store my razors and some software in them. On the top is a machinist tool box I had restored and lined with felt. On the bottom is a replica of a cabinet for Chinese medicine.
