Missed yesterday's shave, so with a full 48hrs growth, I went forth with the Sunday Shaver by Dovo.
15 laps on the CrOx Linen, 40 laps on the SRP 3" Leather, followed by 10 laps on the 2" Savin.
From the sideburns straight down to the chin, stretching the skin, DFS.
That's the standard, from what I have read over the past 10 months since going over to the Dark Side.
This edge is so sharp, that a simple false "touching" of my cheek left a mark.
The regular players all performed well. No balkers, no hooky-players.
My solitary boar knot is about as soft and broken-in as one could hope for.
For the curious, there is an ever-widening ring at the bottom of the bowl.
It moves at a snail's pace. Meanwhile, my shave shelf is gathering dust and making
"goo-goo" eyes at me. "Oh, why hast thou abandoned us, Master Primo?"
I scoff and, with no sympathy, continue on my path to shave-enlightenment.

I feel for Clint @clint64. I've live in 4 different locations around Atlanta. Anytime you have to take I-285 to get to or from home to work, there will be suffering. "Rush Hour" means it takes an hour to got 15-20 miles.

I was wondering if those were owned or wild. I see solution, but it requires lots of charcoal and BBQ sauce.

Thanks Jim! If they weren't such a small pool of them, I'd recommend everyone seek one out! Maybe some enterprising Chinese retro-engineer will get on it...

Installed a Gillette Silver Blue blade in the Monobit and went to work. These blades cost me about 15% more than a Feather blade, so you'd think they are at least as good, right? Well on the first pass I was not disappointed. On a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being a Feather, I'd give them a 9.5. No tugging, the blade more or less just wiped off the lather taking the fur with it. A slight resistances, but all in all a 2 pass shave with a 3rd witch hazel touch up pass. I'm pleased with this shave, feels good, a blade I like. The old gord came almost as clean, 2 passes with a 3rd witch hazel touch up pass. Still could use a 2cd blade for a bowling ball smooth shave, but not bad for a blade that was already used once on the mug.
These cost me more than the feathers but it's nice that I have a blade that can do a nice job if I need to switch. View attachment 209935 Everthing else worked as expected.
Think I'll give these blades another try!
Hoping today will be a quiet one, but the wife and daughter are on the phone planning the day, I fear. Well....
I'm clean and smooth for whatever scheme they come up with!

good morning,fine shave Terry.gsb are a great blade.haven't tried feather blades because my gillette blades work well for me.glad you like them,.

Unfortunately, it is the first time that I have seen that razor. My safety razor knowledge is limited to Fatboys, Slims, the Gillette colored tips, Rockwell 6C and Model T and the VDH. I am familiar with many others by the shared experiences of the 30DC members. In all fairness, my interests lie mainly with straights and have a more working knowledge with them.

good morning gents,sunday shave..went a little older school this morning.canadian ww2 service razor with the steel baseplate,aluminum cap and plastic handle.loaded with a gsb,lathered the erasmic soap/stag bake lite bowl with the canadian rubberset boar.fantastic slick face lather,the ultra light tech got me a near bbs in 3 easy passes..no drama.just smooth.wife works again today,so i will putter around the house.no adult beverages today so less funny pics..we'll see..clubman special reserve to finish..awesome..indy jones in a house coat..have a fine sunday everyone..

Good evening, gents!
I couldn't resist. Two pass shave after a warm shower, it went quite well. The blade felt like it was on it's way out, but i managed to get a close and fairly comfortable shave anyways. No irritation, tiny scrape on the mole which stopped bleeding by itself.

Busy morning already. Getting ready visit my wife's Aunt and Uncle for a belated Diwali luncheon. It is really not the same without the kids. Broke out some different hardware this morning. Going with the 47 SS and a Zenith Boar. The big boar made short work of loading and lathering the Dirty Ginger. After using the Nodachi last week the 47 SS felt like a mild mannered toy but delivered a three pass BBS shave. A splash of the matching AS and I hope I am ready for an afternoon of extended family. I hope everyone has a great Sunday.
