I didn't have a menthol product for today, but was very happy with the shave. I'm improving with my neck shaves-working into a pattern I can get used to. Very good loading from the Jayaruh (#59). 1st pass a bit on the watery side, thus I need to improve on that end. 2nd was less watery. Good work with the Agadir Oud Wood A.S. No weepers, nicks, or cuts. The Soap Exchange soaps are quite good, I must say.
Nov 11th No Repeat Menthol Monday Razor: Gillette Superspeed B4 Blade: Polsilver (2) Brush: Parker Silvertip Faux Horn PS & AS: Proraso Eucalyptus and Menthol SS: Chiseled Face Cryogen I only have 2 soaps with menthal so I will have to figure something out for the rest of the month. I'm happy with today's shave. A little bit of irritation left over from yesterday caused problems on the corner of my mouth. Just a hint of irritation on my neck. Almost BBS, but I decided to back off a little. Cryogen is intense soap. It really does feel cold on the skin and causes my eyes to water slightly. It will be really nice in the summer. I like how the monthly rules and day themes mix things up. My Gillette Heritage razor should arrive today. Tempted to strip the chrome and put on a thick bright nickel. I'd go for gold but the only plating bath I have right now is too soft and doesn't wear well. Perhaps I will just wait until I have a better plating bath.
11/11/19 Oneblade Synthetic Shaving Brush Salsa Bowl Soap Commander Honor Soap and Aftershave Splash Oneblade Core Razor Feather Single Edge Blade Nivea Post Shave Balm I really do not know what to say about this razor. I know I need to spend more time with it and it is a different shaving experience. Pressure is needed and that is counter intuitive for a seasoned DE shaver. It was not a bad shave and the Feather blade does a great job but I just do not see any advantage of this razor over a nice double edge razor. If you are going from carts to a single edge blade than this is probably this ticket. I’ll spend more time with it because it is hard to make a call off of one shave with a razor this different. The Soap Commander is just great soap that can be counted on to delivery awesome lather. Overall it was a good shave with a different twist. Y'all take care and have a great day.
