I said at the time I was glad they picked on me and not someone a bit less savvy. I first got online in 1988 before the internet. The old FIDOnet days, so my skepticism was high. But they were so good with their scam it nearly pulled me in. I had noticed some issues with timestamps on emails - for instance if I received an email from the "travel agent" it would have been sent in the middle of the night over there. No travel agent works those hours. Other clues were there and that is what kept me in the "safe zone" long enough to start doing some deep digging. I have used that experience in helping some others who have gotten pulled into scams to stay safe, although I've known plenty of people who ended up losing a lot of money to various online scams.

 

I won’t bore you with today’s set up. Suffice it to say, everything remained the same with the exception of the razor: Feather AS-D2. Yawn.
