So true on the prices. I have noticed how these vintage razors have been increasing in prices over the last couple of years. Oh well.....my kids can make a few bucks after I check out.

Thanks, Terry! It's rare that I poorly hit that area, but that's why we have erasers in pencils, whiteout and spell check.

That list is worthy of printing & hanging next to the other refrigerator art! One in particular strikes a cord. "Being viewed from a distance" I spent a couple of decades as a production manager in a wood shop. Most of our work was interior plantation shutters. Think window furniture at $25/sqft, built to size and finished to match the trim in Atlanta's finer homes. We had a grading system based on placement. Kitchen windows over the sink got a 100% perfect inside and out grade finish. The lady of the house would look at them every day. Other rooms were less perfect on the inside, and even less so upstairs on the outsides because folks tend to look through them rather than at them. Garage shutters? "30 mph from the street" was a level of QC, but right in line with your list item. I'm somewhat curious yet cautious about your thoughts on Spandex. Viewing or wearing? That material should be a privilege, not a right.
According to wikipedia, "Keeping 'two sets of books' does not always refer to an illegal practice. Most publicly traded companies use this practice and it is legal. They abide by the rules set by the Federal Accounting Standards Board". As long as the kids see the real values before they start listing on the bay... because boys need their toys! ;)

Razor - Feather SS Artist Club Pain Stick
    Blade - artist-club-small-professional-blades.jpg
    Soap - Stirling Iced Coffee
    Brush - Jayaruh #54
    Post - Alum

Welcome to winter! About an inch of snow down, lots of wrecks everywhere you look and the current temperature is 18 F. Not the low yet. Considering we were at 69 yesterday, not a bad drop, right? It's Menthol Monday so why not add some more icyness to the day, right?

After @Hembree did his best to bait me into buying a new pain stick earlier (he succeeded but I'm not admitting it yet) I decided it was time to pick up a pain stick for tonight's shave. I chose the Feather SS. Great quality, just has that little lip they put on to make it "safer". I chose the Feather Pro blade which is my usual choice for a painer. Menthol Monday demands menthol so let's use the Stirling Iced Coffee. Love, love love the scent and the lather is pure Stirling. Pair that with the JR54 and there's enough slick and thick lather to share with everyone.

Why I'm not bleeding right now I'm unsure of. Right side went well on the first pass. Left side started with the tip of the blade cutting the top of my ear right where it connects to my head. I felt it, cussed it, and just continued waiting for the blood flow. Nothing. I finished that pass and still had no blood. Checked on it and found a very small slice, but no blood. Either there are no capillaries there, or the pressure of the fold it's in sealed it, or I have lost blood supply to my head. Take your pick. Anyway, I went for the second pass and did some touch up and have a very fine DFS shave as a result. A bit of bite from the alum on my neck and definitely on the little cut when I put a little on there. The shave itself, though, was definitely top shelf.

Hope you are warm and dry where you are. Tuesday is up next and I think our high tomorrow is a warm and balmy 26 F or something like that. Mmmmm, mmmm, good.

    Good evening, guys
    Straight Razor Shave #118
    30 Same Straight/Setup Rule (8)
Wostenholm 5/8 full hollow sq pt
    Stirling Boar Brush
    Stirling Sandalwood SS and AS
    Nivea ASB
Ok, I decided to shave my 31 hr stubble because I may get called tomorrow. It's one less thing to worry about in order for me to be ready. Everything worked with proper execution. I received an IBSS ++ with a tiny weep right above the mouth corner and no irritation. Pencil took care of weep. Matching aftershave didn't burn so I had a comfortable shave. Nivea ASB felt really good to finish the shave. 8 shaves completed and only need 22 more to complete the rule. Presently, I have 10 shaves since the razor was honed. So far, there hasn't been any change in blade performance. Well, that's it for now, guys. Have a nice evening! 20191101_142822.jpg 20191101_142822.jpg
