Those memories do get sweeter. Now onto the Yankee thing ......my wife is from the Allegany mountains in Pennsylvania and I can assure you the people in the Allegany mountains would fit in great in Alabama. They do not like a tyrannical government as well. The Confederacy did get six generals from Pennsylvania. As time goes on the South is just proven to be correct. Hang in there and eat lots of ice cream. Oh yeah...quit poking the bear. Take care friend and I consider Joe a northerner and not a Yankee..there is a difference plus he is a great guy!
Fair enough, Joe. They were just brief questions pertaining parts of their descriptions of some of the ingredients each product. I wasn't expecting long answers on each one, but answers that included words around "Yes" or "No", would have been enough.
OK...for the Tombstone, there was a mention of Opium, and I simply asked, is it blended in with the other features? I couldn't see any answer of that in the website. For Home On The Range, I wanted to know if other "Manly Smells"* were in along with the guncleaner/gunpowder that they listed. (The website says something like "this scent has weaved its way through the lodges for a century and STILL is". ). Again, a "yes" or "no" type answer was all I needed. Or, a "By this I mean" reply. I felt the description was rather vague. *-he referred to Brett McKay's "18 Manly Smells" article in The Art Of Manliness.
I completely agree that their descriptions are somewhat esoteric. I tend to stay away from merchants who appear to be selling snake oil. "Just the facts, ma'am..." Sorry they didn't respond with specific answers.
It's a shame. But that's a phrase I am bugged at hearing-"You'll find out". My reply to that is always" But I'd like to find out from YOU-that's why I asked".
Certainly. "Thank you, I will be shopping elsewhere...and advising the MANY friends I have on the shave forums to do so as well." Fact is, I don't own any of Douglas Smythe's (or whatever the heck his real name is) products and never will, so the hypothetical answer is moot.

Ah yes....same meaning comes across. Well, I have one of their Bay Rum soaps coming. If I like it, and want something else from them later, I'll get it from Amazon or Maggard or some other place.
Well, I think they could have given you a better answer, but I also can understand that they might not want to give a detailed answer because it might not match your experience when you buy it. That's my take. If it was me, I would still buy the sample and hope that I would be pleasantly surprised.
